If someone buys an item right after someone has submitted a Best Offer, does the first person get a notice from eBay that the item has been sold, or should I reply and let them know? Thanks.

I don't know if ebay notifies the best offer buyer or not, but it couldn't hurt to write them a short note to let them know. that's what I would do anyway.

They get a notice.
Unfortunately it doesn't start with "sucks to be you, cheapskate".

They get a notice. Unfortunately it doesn't start with "sucks to be you, cheapskate". The item was listed at $29.99. The first offer was $16. The second person offered $24, which was automatically accepted.

Which was the case on a brand new blazer last month. It sold automatically at full price as soon as I declined 2 low-baller's; one of which was a re-seller. My last best offer was $25 on a $38 skirt set. I declined it; she countered with $30...I then countered with $33 (multiple watchers). She accepted and we were both happy.

I just reply with...
Sorry, it sold. Thank you for your interest. Best Wishes, seller
