We garden in raised beds in a big country garden.. This is the 4th year on these berries. They did good again this year. Some are traveling out of the bed, but we have let them. Those are blooming too.

Fresh from the vine makes for a great berry.
I'm jealous.

I'm sort of jealous too. I love watching them ripen--like in your first photo. Waiting until they are bright red and perfectly yummy. Enjoy!

YAY! I used to have great strawberries growing all along my driveway. But after I got cancer, I was wondering if it was caused by the creosote leaking out of the landscape ties that exhole had on each side of strawberries. So I ripped them all up.
Have tried for 13 years to grow strawberries in my garden, but they never produce...even though I buy new plants almost yearly.

I know, after cancer you wonder what you did, if anything to get it. Creosote is really toxic. But also commercially grown strawberries always make the list of the most chemically contaminated fruits. Have you tried the miniature strawberries you can grow in pots? Since strawberroes grow best in sandy soil and live at a beach they were growing like weeds. sending out new little plantlets (whatever) all the time. But I didn't have the space for them. The ones in pots are teeny and you only get a few at a time but they've satisfied my need. Better than no strawberries at all!

Hmmmm, pots might be a good idea, but I would have to put something around them to ward off the bunnies. Don't know why they won't grow in my garden....
And I know the store bought ones aren't healthy. durn it. Hopefully the garden ones will be better this year...
