Awww, so sorry for your family. Even though these decisions are unbelievably tough, I'm sure you made the right one. Went through something similar with our cat last summer after spending nearly $2,000. You guys are great for caring so much. Without you, he most likely would've passed away alone out in the blizzard.

Hugs to you and your family. It was a tough decision but, as others have said, you gave Felix much love and the medical help he needed. He is now without pain, free to wee wee all over the rainbow bridge.

I hadn't commented but had been keeping up with Felix. I know it was hard, but also know you did the right thing and gave him peace, warmth, a full tummy, and a pain free end to life. That's more than most of us get. Bless you for doing that.

I am sorry the little kitty did not make it, but so glad that your family made his last days ones of warmth and love.

Not stupid at all! I am so sorry for you all, but know that Felix is now at peace. I didn't post this story earlier, b/c it had an ending like yours, but we had to do something similar once, after seeing a cat in an accident. We are not even cat people, but we had to pull over & scoop it up, we stopped at a fire station that we drove by & they directed us to the nearest Animal Emergency Center.
We had absolutely no idea who this cat belonged to, we were just driving by & we had to make the difficult decision with all the broken bones, etc, to humanely put it down. It's hard to know, when it's not your animal, what to do, it's hard to even make a decision for someone who will never know what happened to their pet, but you & we were there for a reason, for that animal. All these years later, I still feel we made the right & humane decision & you did too! You did not look the other way & b/c of that, Felix had someone who cared at the end. My heart goes out to you all.

About a year ago bf ran over a dog, there was traffic all around so it was completely unavoidable. He scooped it up still alive and and found an emergency vet very close by but but he didn't make it He's a crazy dog lover, it was gut wrenching when he called and told me what had happened.
