I like Pottery Barn's but they feel much better/smoother if they're ironed, and that is a PITA.

If you don't mind spending a small fortune (my set cost more than my first car), the absolute best sheets are Frette.
But I warn you...you will never want any other sheets again.

I have the Macy's Hotel Collection sheets and I really like them! They're thick, but soft--in a crisp way. Wash after wash.

Just checked the Frettes. Holy moly!!! I believe they're probably the best, but my husband would kill me.

If you have a thick mattress or a mattress topper, the sheets with the wide elastic band and stretchy elastic corners are nice. I hadn't bought sheets for a while, when I took the ones from Sam's Club out of the package I said oooohhhhh these are nnniiiiiiiccceee.

I second this -- I bought a few sets of these several years ago and they've held up nicely. They're kind of pricey, but Macy's has them on sale sometimes and I've used coupons for additional discounts.

I love my Ralph Lauren sheets.
I also purchased a set of the Macy's ones mentioned earlier and they are wonderful also!

I checked out the Macy ones and they don't have the color I need. They only have mocha and charcoal in queen. Thanks shopping for letting me know how they fit your tempurpedic because that's what we have also. I'll keep looking. Maybe in February sheets will be on sale, you know for Valentine's Day even though I think January is when they have the white sales. Thanks everyone.

I bought sheets after sheets and finally fell in love with Targets Organic Sheets. They come in a bunch of cute prints and probably solids. I have a gray gingham check. They are soft, not stiff.

I don't have a specific brand that I buy but I do make sure they are natural fibers and of a higher count fabric. Thread count seems to make a difference in the softness.
I do iron my sheets. They are King sized and a pain to iron but I do it. They are 100% cotton and it is the ironing that keeps they super soft or so I am told. I don't know if it is true but I just love sheets when they are freshly ironed.
I love to iron. I have seen how so many people hate it. I iron almost everything.

I have a "wrinkle guard" setting on my dryer. That's pretty much the same thing as ironing, right?

I've had a wrinkle release/wrinkle guard on my last 2 dryers and wouldn't dream of ironing sheets...but as an alternative, always loved the smell and feel of sheets that were line-dried outdoors.

I have a wrinkle guard also and I do think it really helps with the wrinkles, but I still iron them. They just feel nicer once ironed. I do have some sheet for the spare room that are not 100% cotton and I do not iron them.
I also love line dried sheets!
Bets, do you have a clothes line? We do not and I have thought multiple time about getting a retractable one just never got around to it. Also not sure where I would put it.

dpaddy, no I don't. Last year I invested in a retractable one as an emergency measure, but since then, most all of the open space in our backyard has been taken up by raised garden beds.

I have the room. I just don't know where I would attache it. A steel pole sunk into the ground with some quickcrete would do the trick. IIRC, they still make systems for clotheslines, but they were expensive the last time I looked.

Funny, since I first saw it, I got the impression that the picture caught you while you were either coming or going. Something about holding the glasses in one hand and the way your body is leaning, made me think you were putting on or taking off shoes, so I just had to ask. Maybe I was right.

The only thing I was putting on was an air of exasperation in wanting to leave. Good ol' body language. LOL

I want sheets that make me go aaahhhhhhh and never want to get out of bed. I have middling sheets and I already never want to get out of bed! If I got really great sheets I would be in danger of slipping into a coma.
