Yep, switched another 2 packages. Really dread shipping now since I seem to be clueless about getting the right thing into the correct bag. Anyway, I'd like to print a return label for the 1st buyer; the other refused her package. What's the easiest way to do this? The USPS site wouldn't let me enter any addy but my own. TIA- really getting sick of eating humble pie. Sandra

How are you packaging your stuff? Do you do it as you go along or do you do it as it sells?
I write the item name on the box and then if I have a bunch of stuff to ship that are similar, I write the last name of the buyer on the box as it sells. Would that help you?

I was doing them all at once since I was doing a scan form. If we're not using those anymore then maybe packing & printing as things sell would work better. I don't know; I'm just super frustrated right now cause I'm trying really hard. I match labels AND packing slips with the envelopes that I write the contents on as I pack them. But crying out loud, there were only TWO items I was mailing. How hard should that be?

I did the same thing, just found out about it yesterday from a ticked off buyer. Asked the other buyer to refuse her package since it wasn't delivered yet but haven't heard back. I'm about to just refund them both, take whatever hit they give me and be done with it.

You can print another label through eBay. Just change the "ship from" zip code.

Dang it. I did it too! So glad this post was here. I've printed a label for the correct package to the buyer and was going to include an envelope with the return postage. No matter what I do I can't to change the 'ship from address'. Any help is appreciated.

Why not just email a pdf of the label for buyer to use? USPS will let you put in shipping from another location. I never use the post office I'm 'supposed' to use. The 'shipped from' address makes no nevermind if you have the real shipping zip code in.

I guess I'm a problem child today. When I go into USPS.com it will only allow me to mail or print labels for Priority or Priority Express. I guess I could go by the post office but it is about a 30 min drive. Perhaps that is my punishment for making such a stupid mistake.
I wanted to include the label in the package with the correct item. It's not a high dollar item and if I don't get it back then so be it.

I've decided to just write out the address on the mailer and put the correct postage on it with stamps. I'm spending way too much time messing with this. But if any one knows the answer please post to this thread so that the postage and shipping needy folks can pull it up.
PS. Not meaning to sound short or irritable. I just need to move on since I can't get my parent to answer the phone this morning and will need to go by and check on them.
Thanks

Sorry! Didn't know it was first class.
I've only used ebay's labeling maybe once or twice so no idea how to put the right shipping zip code in with them. It 'should' be an option but RR boxes 'should' be an option with a listing on ebay too and that's never gonna happen.

IDK anything about USPS.com, I would just go into PP/shipnow & create a label there. THat's how I print all my personal labels. You can put in any to/from addresses you want. I imagine you could then email it as a PDF or you can print it & put it in the envelope.
Retro, I've never used scan forms. I think they're a waste of time. I just print each label as I go along, but since a 3 sale day, is a big one for me, it's not that hard to do. If you sell 15 items/day, that doesn't really make sense.

Scan forms have been printing pretty consistently for me lately so I still use them if I have more than 2 packages to ship. After one PO clerk told me to not use them, I did an unofficial survey of local offices and they all said YES, PLEASE use them cause it makes their job much easier. I'm all about seeing smiles instead of stink-eye at mailing time so I use them. Everyone has their own routine worked out; It's interesting to hear about other seller processes. :-)

Oh yeah, if you deal with humans, then you want to make them happy :-). I never use humans, I just drop everything off in the drive through or the bin in the wall thing. They're no different than thousand other pkgs that are dropped in a blue box.
ETA: that should have said EMAIL it as a PDF above, I fixed it. So, using PP/Shipnow, you can EM it as a PDF or just print it & put it in the pkg.

I drop all mine off in the wall drop through chute in the post office lobby at one of the 3 post offices that I use depending on which area I am going to be in that day.
No more waiting in line and at least I know it made it to a post office.

Their setup says if you're bringing your packages into the post office, please print and bring along a scan form. I've been using the scan form since they first came out 7-8 years ago; I don't even think about it, I just print it and hand it over.

At my closest POs, I don't use the outside boxes anymore cause I always make my run after 4pm and they won't guarantee it's being scanned the same day after 4. I'm usually on my way to grocery shop for dinner or heading to the bins at the same time and don't want to make a separate trip earlier. And I really like my local PO gals; somehow I feel like I'm supporting my tiny local PO & helping keep it open that way. : )

I am not sure if you are printing the receipt on the label, but I do print that and got in the habit of actually reading the title (which prints onto that receipt portion) every single time I go to place a label on the mailer. It is quite difficult to make an error if you are holding a bag with a red dress on it and the label says green shorts KWIM. Unless it is a particularly bad day, you should be well aware of just what you placed in the bag you are now holding so it really does help.
That alone has saved me many times. And, yes I bet we have all done it.

I print packing slips and match description on slip to item, address on label to address on packing slip. So far, the few times I've sent the wrong thing to the wrong buyer was when I was in a hurry and didn't follow my normal checkpoints. Which was stupid of me because it only takes a couple of seconds to do that match.

I print a packing list to include in the package, use it to pull the right product, copy the zip code on to the front of the package where the postage label is gonna go and seal it. I tried using names and products but that didn't work - dupes - but never had 2 people in the same zip code buy at the same time. So far, so good. I only flipped labels once - on two international shipments when I didn't print a packing list for 'em cause it was ONLY two. Hah! One to Japan, one to Europe.

I print my labels one at a time. I tried the scan form but since I have two ID's, it made it confusing plus [in the good ol' days] I would have something sell before I got done packaging stuff so I'd often have a package that wasn't on the scan form so I gave up using it.
I have a rhythm that works really well for me, clicking through the next label as I am working on the previous one, so there is no time lost waiting on the computer or the computer sitting idle while I am doing something else. Shipping is the most efficient process I have going for me as far as ebay is concerned, and one at a time, I haven't had an error in a long time. (Knock on wood.)
Also it would make more sense to me if the scan form could be printed AFTER we finish printing each label--using a check box to indicate which items to include on the scan form.
