Another beautiful day here!
Went to 7:30 a.m. Mass then out to breakfast with DH. Now sitting with my second cup of coffee deciding what to do next. Might go to an open art studios event in the town next to us later today.
What are you up to?

Sitting here typing one handed because me dog is making me keep my hand on her tummy while she sleeps. Not sure what happened at her last vet day but she is super clingy/needy ever since then. It's like having a toddler in the house again.

Housecleaning and yardwork on today's agenda. We inspected the backyard hives yesterday - the bees are loaded with pollen and very happy! Today I'm mulching and getting the garden beds ready for planting. I went to a bunch of flea markets and estate sales yesterday. Best find was a small handblown glass vase for $.25. I cleaned it up and discovered a signature (Yves Tunon, a contemporary French glass artist). I'm keeping it for my own collection I also picked up some vintage cookbooks and a funky Dansk serving dish and cups from the 70s.

Today is Cater to the Teen Boys day. First I'm off to see the Avengers with my youngest (15), then later this afternoon my middle one (17) is playing in a Super Smash Bros tournament. Yep, you heard that right! There's prizes and everything. He already dominates his "Geek Pride" (video game club) at school, so maybe he has a chance.
Hopefully my brain will survive the experience.

I have just been piddling around doing getting nothing accomplished.
Oh wait, I did get flea meds on Sabrina so that was an accomplishment.
Beautiful day so I think I will go out and trim some bushes.
Hopefully I will get in listing gear later.

Super gorgeous day here. Warm and sunny without the winds we have been plagued with.
Went to the farmers market early so I could get some vine ripened tomatoes. I've been jonesing for a good tomato and I can't stand the hard ones in the stores and much of the produce in our stores here comes from Mexico and I just won't buy Mexican tomatoes.
My neighbor Les (Miss Amanda for you oldies) was playing there with his band so I listened to them for awhile and even did a little bit of the ol lady shuffle and sway.
Now I'm going to eat the tomatoes and watch some episodes of Good Eats on Hulu, I adore Alton Brown.

Cloudy, cool and a sort of depressing Spring day. Ack! I was super-motivated (in my head, anyway) to list until SO got the cwaaaaaaaazy idea of hitting our TS for some goodies. Just added 80 items (after a volume shopping hiatus for over a month)... egads, I need to get my head examined! BBL

So far today I have gave my bathroom a deep cleaning. Since we've lived here a month I figured it was about time. I scrubbed the shower and scrubbed the floor with a scrub brush. If DBF gets it dirty I may lose it, lol.
I got most of the dishes washed and a load of towels have been washed and dried and just need folded.
I need to do my grocery shopping for the week and would like to run to Burlington or Marshalls as well. I don't have any rugs on the bathroom floor and since it is sparkly clean I'd like to get some rugs to go in there. It will be a while though as my car is at DBF's parents right now. I met him over there and we drove to a friends together. We were going to swing by there last night after we left so I could get my car but it was storming pretty badly so we just drove home together and left my car. They are calling for storms again tonight so he will probably get stuck at the news station pretty late.
I do want to list today but it may have to wait. I have a lot of laundry that needs to be done. I agreed to pick up a shift at another branch on my day off this week for some overtime but I do get off earlier than usual on Tuesday so I may list then.

I've given up on getting the lawn mown this weekend so decided to work on things I can control. So I've been clearing our coffee table so it can go away. The problem with having large flat areas is that I pile stuff on them, rendering them useless. That table and a spare couch that the dog sleeps on is outta here!! (Sorry Ziggy).
I'm going to a baby shower in a couple of hours. Our nephew's wife is due in June but they live in Rhode Island, so the shower's being held via FaceTime or Skype. Should be interesting. And there will be cake as a reward for driving 30 miles one way. : ) It's a beautiful day for a drive tho.

I went to a dinner for cancer survivors with a bunch of gals from my BC support group. Was able to network about the tent that I will run at the Relay on June 13 for survivor registration....lots of work there.
Then stopped at the new GW and really like it....charged $75 (my bad)for some pretty good labels, nothing fabulous, but brands that I always pick up.
The only flaw is that they don't give the Senior discount.
Too late for yard work, but I did plenty yesterday.

Denise, I think they are getting better. I stopped Friday & they had a much better/bigger selection of items & only a few things had the barbs/holes in them. I didn't have time to look at the adult clothes but got some kids things & the formerly $15.99 popcorn popper was a yellow tag so 1/2 price - NEW. The box was banged up a bit but the appliance was still in the packaging & never used.
I asked about the Senior Discount & she said none yet but everyone has been asking about it so maybe they will put something in place soon. I'm glad I went back because I'm liking it more now. I guess they just got off to a bumpy start.

I ended up going to TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Burlington. I found two rugs for my bathroom at Burlington. They are plain white with a design in the weave of the fabric. I didn't realize until I got home and ripped the tags off that they have two slightly different designs, lol. I don't think it is very noticeable though. I didn't find anything at TJ Maxx. At Marshalls I finally found an affordable stainless bathroom trash can. I cannot believe how much trash cans are! I also bought two of those divider things that you use to organize the lids to your pots and pans. I have been watching all these Youtube videos about organization lately and it has me inspired. I'm hoping to find some organization type items at thrifts and garage sales over the summer. I hate spending so much on things that are just used to hold other things, lol.
It is supposed to storm here and I can see lightening but now real storm as of yet. I have been reading some articles from the local stations today as this week marks 40 years since a devastating tornado ripped thru very populated areas in Omaha. Adjusted for inflation it caused over a billion dollars of damage.

Kid-I didn't look at the children's clothing....just the adults. It is sooo much cleaner than the Gbg GW.
Too bad they have to look up every item on a chart, versus the other ones that can just use a scanner.
We will have to keep asking about the Sr discount. After all, I worked hard to get this OLD!
The cashier told a customer that they bought a lot of new stuff to bring in.

My kids spent part of their growing up years in TX, where tornadoes were always a threat. When we moved to CT, my youngest was four. The first time there was a thunderstorm, we were out driving somewhere and he started crying and begging me to take him home. It took awhile for me to convince him that we didn't have to be afraid here every time there was a thunderstorm.

It took awhile for me to convince him that we didn't have to be afraid here every time there was a thunderstorm. Yes, it does freak me out a bit. Part of the reason we chose the apartments we did is there are two storm shelters on the premise. I was not going to live in a third floor apartment with nowhere to go if a storm struck. I was super freaked out the first time I heard them testing the storm sirens and I asked DBF if we needed to head to the basement, lol. The worst was when we went to the college world serier last year and it started to look like it was going to storm with no where to go at a large ballpark. The game finished up before the storm hit luckily and we were on the shuttle bus back to the place where we parked. So I guess I have a fear of being stuck somewhere with no shelter.
