I may do the SAMs Club this time. Since it's only me, purchasing groceries there doesn't work out so well but with the groupon offer, I can use it to buy gas as they are generally a few cents cheaper and I have one close by. Also ebates has I think 6% back for this offer.

Just got my Costco renewal. I hope the Costco one can be used for current members.

Yes, ebates has a 6% rebate going on.
With the $20 gift card thing on this Sams one, I am going to join Sams too.
I know that Sams has some things that Costco doesn't plus its cheap enough to give it a try.

I'm tempted.
The nearest Costco is over an hour drive from here, but the Sams is only about 4 miles away.
And you get cupcakes, wonder if they have Red Velvets ones and how good they are.

I'm waiting for Costco to run some kind of deal so if anyone hears of a Groupon or other promotion,I'd love to know about it! For the last 2 yrs, I got our Sam's memberships this way so it was basically free.

Sam's is too far for me. I belong to Costco. Dante and I are determined to sample our way through the membership fee this year. Yes - we stop by just to sample the food. Her ditch day was last Friday. Instead of going to one of the parties ( I'm grateful), she wanted to go clothes shopping and stop by Costco on the way out. She even told her principal what she was doing.

Ours is an auto renewal through Dh's job so we never get the goodies that come with membership.
Yes Sams has red velvet cupcakes. Kids love them, I've never had them so can't say if they are good or bad.

Go for it, Shirley. After the $20 coupon, the chicken, and the cupcakes, it is basically free plus it is the Plus Membership.
I have a Sams closer to me than Costco so I am getting it just to try it out. I will renew whichever one I like best when the renewal time comes.
I feed the Costco cat food and my cats seem to do well on it so that will be considered too.

I hadn't even thought about cat food. Bet I can get litter there cheaper too.
Gas is cheaper there too. Can you use your Sams card at any Sams? I have to go to El Paso frequently for Drs appts and it would be nice to be able to get gas there cheaper.

You should be able to use you Sam's card at any Sam's gas station just like you can use your Sam's card at any Sam's across the nation. I switched to Costco litter from Tidy Cat and it is no different from what I can tell. Oh wait, it is cheaper.

It's sounding better and better.
Does everything come in huge sizes? I can't handle 50# bags of litter or cat food.

The litter that I get at Costco comes in a 35 lb. container.
They load them in the trunk for me at Costco and then I pour it into empty TC buckets when I get home for easier carry into the house from the detached garage.
The cat food at Costco weighs 25 pounds.

Shirley, I'm going to be at a Sam's tonight. They don't all carry the same things but I'll check out the weights on the kitty stuff at this store. Think most will be pretty big but I'll look for ya.

Thanks Notdot, Kritter just gave me the answer I needed, I appreciate the offer.
Thanks Kritter, those sizes are doable. I can just get it when I know our handyman will be around and he can help put it in smaller containers and move it into the house for me.

Glad you got your info Shirley. Really need to heed that advice about dividing up big heavy bags into buckets or something. I drag home gigunda bags of potting soil in the truck from time to time & grunt/groan my way to the yard. Never thought to break them down first. Duhhh...
