Well it's a lovely day here; in the 60s and sunny with low humidity. Although I still wish you could send some rain Labby, we need it! They are saying later in the week but who knows about that. I guess we'll see.
I did an all day photo session yesterday. Yikes! My back feels 90 today lol. I should probably do smaller more frequent ones. But I drag out the background, and lights, and four dress forms and move stuff to set everything up, so I feel like I might as well do as much as I can. And this new digital camera battery, ugh. My other camera had a battery that came out, and you put it in this square thing that you plug into the wall. I had two batteries so that when one is being used, the other is being charged. I guess I didn't pay as much attention as I should when I bought it. I had a hard time finding a decent affordable one. This one you have to plug the camera itself in to recharge. And so I had to take breaks (well I needed to anyway) to charge the camera. Then I had a harder and harder time talking myself into getting up and finishing. I started at about 8:30 and I was finally done around 5:30. I am taking a day off today! Well I need to print some labels and do a few things but no cooking, etc.
The good news is DH thinks he will be ready to put the new tub in next Saturday!! I sure hope so, a soak would have been great today. But it will definitely give me something to look forward to

"It's those pesky snowmobilers again. I do hope they brought Pepsi this time and not Coke."Sunny and mid 60s here. Pork chops are in the slow cooker. Today's task is getting the workout area set up. Then I need to take some stuff to GW, or at least load up the car so I can take it all to GW tomorrow

You have inspired me to go through my closets and make that trip to GW. Yesterday while I was waiting for a fence guy to show up which he never did, I went through both summer and winter clothes and have 4 bags to take. A lot of never worn winter clothes because I have way more than I need for the amount of winter that we have. Plus I don't go out if it gets below 50 degrees so I was way overstocked. I even considered putting some summer stuff on ebay and then, nope, not interested. I am not prepping clothes, taking pics, making listings, and then packing/shipping for maybe a net of $10 or less per sale if the item does eventually sell. So, into the bag they went. I still have some drawers to go through but that will wait for another day as it is a beautiful day in the neighborhood and I need to get outside and enjoy it.

Woke up to coating of snow and off/on brief showers all day. We're in the 1-3" range. So far, still melting on pavement and just hope it stops and dries out before turning to ice. Temps going back up to 60s this week, so just a hiccup on the way to spring springing to stay.

The usual rain and it is dark out, but it's not pouring at any rate. Some people in the area are still without power after yesterday's squalls.
Might go to the GW today just to see if they have anything on their 50% off tag sale.

I don't care if we have daylight savings time or not - I just wish we'd either go daylight time all year, or standard time all year - pick one. Stop the stupid spring forward and fall back crap Does anyone watch UFO Cowboys on Roku?

It's snowing out - and sticking pretty good. WHY??
I'm watching old episodes of HOUSE - the crazy doctor who is super smart, discovers what's wrong with every patient, and pops Vicodin all day long. I used to watch it years ago when it was on every week at night. Forgot how crazy he was, but so smart.

Started out at 50 and sun out. Almost changed sweat jackets mid walk. Then the clouds came out and it poured down rain when I still had a mile to go to get to the house. Tonight we are getting snow squalls.

We had snow squalls on and off all day long. Very bitter cold.

I was working out in my front yard today and it turned out very profitable.
A friend from high school that I hadn't seen in probably 50 years stopped and made a donation for our spay/neuter programs. Apparently she follows me on NextDoor where I post the appointment schedules every month.
Then a neighbor across the street walked over and gifted me with a cherry pie. He saw me in my front yard when he was on his way to HEB and thought that I would like a treat. So great to be an adult and have cherry pie for dinner. Great day in the neighborhood.

Those good days in the neighbourhood are nice! Mine was seeing the two guys (both unmarried) who owned the houses at the top of our road working in the yard bare chested lol. I'm incorrigible, but I would have taken a cherry pie, no problem, as well.
I'm going to give a go at walking up and down the road to the nature preserve near me - 1.25 miles, it's the only flat place anywhere around (everything's on a pretty steep slope here). Then I will try running that same course. We'll see how I do. I'd like to manage a 10k in a couple of weeks, though I suspect I'll be walking it - I can just take off my chip since I can't actually run, and just tour through it. It's a neat course along the waterfront of a great town north of me and I'd like to see what is to be seen. My running friend encouraged me that I only had to manage a 22 minute mile to get through it and to just go.
ETA: The weather this time of year - like that old joke "if you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes." We had little squalls blowing through all day, then sunbursts, then another squall. To my surprise we did NOT have hail, though.

Speaking of the Oscars, there were a LOT of ugly dresses last night And what's with all the black dresses? Did someone important die and they dedicated the 2024 Oscars to that person's memory?

Wait. It's Plumbing Day AND Tools Day? How convenient I have a decent amount of tools, I suppose, considering I live in an apartment. But if I lived in a house, I'd want a BUNCH more tools I've asked BFs in the past for tool gifts....they'd give me jewelry. Whatever LOL. Bath & Body Works has select soaps for $3.95 today, and shower gels and body lotions for $5.95. The shower gels and lotions are usually $15.95 or more. Today only, and only online orders (although you might be able to order online/pickup at store). /PSA

One step closer to getting my new fence up in the front. I accepted the bid from the guy that was here last Thursday. I liked him and he showed up when he said he would and sent me the bid when he said he would which both go a long way with me. His bid was right down to the type of screws and other hardware they were using with everything costed out. I am not going to jack around with these guys that don't show up or reschedule with excuses. Nobody has time for those fools who probably wouldn't show up to do the fence either.
Went to Lowes to get some stuff to kill whatever is eating the leaves on my Angel Trumpets and took a cruise through the garden department. Lots of annuals but then I spied hibiscus. More hibiscus than their usual flood of roses. They also had Lantana and Salvia but in tiny little containers with one plant sprig for $5.99. Nope. Ended up with a hibiscus that was reasonably priced. So, looks like Lowes is on it's game with bringing in some perennials earlier than usual.

I am in love with hibiscuses. I have a tropical one in my garage until it gets warm enough to go outside. It didn't bloom well last year, but I guess it's because I didn't drill drainage holes into the pot. Will have to do that this year.
Last summer, I found a guy near me who sold them for $10 each and I bought 4 of them. Trying to find room for more, but then there are the evil deer...... I think that I posted a pic of his and they are gorgeous. Mine are just babies.

Lowes had more hibiscus that they have every had this early in the year. Three different pot sizes and multiple colors. Mine go into the ground so I have to stick to the 1 qt. size although the colors in the much bigger pots were tempting. My plan is to start stalking Lowes now.

This is one of my flower's parents. He has these all along his driveway. I have 2 pink ones like this, a white one and a lighter pink. I hope to get a burgundy one this summer. He cross-pollinates them, so he doesn't know what color they will be.

I didn't watch the Oscars but I DID see the John Cena photos and read about it - ROFL! Yeah, easy on the eyes, absolutely.
Never got out for my walk/run - by the time I got done with all of the stuff I needed to do it was merrily raining with a cold knifing wind. The GW got rid of the 70% off Monday tag sale and went back to the $1.99 format - I hope they keep it. They also had half off all coats and tag day coats for $1, but they were pretty well cleared out and I'm discontinuing selling coats, anyway, unless they're very unusual. I suspect the store being over stuffed and the high prices were putting people off. I hope they keep it - it was busier than I've seen it on the few Mondays I show up for now. Anyway, it was just the wind trainer downstairs today.
We're due for a strange streak of weather this weekend where it's supposed to get into the mid-60s - huh? It's not always that warm in the summer much less in March. It drops again after that, though. It'll be sunny. I predict people will be skiving off work early on Friday and the entire area will empty out for the weekend as people go tearing off to the mountains and the beaches to take advantage of the break. This is where I am NOT going - every trailhead below alpine level will be slammed. I'm thinking of exploring some trails I found very close to my house.
Those Hibiscus are gorgeous!

I'm finally at the (hopefully) tail end of whatever the moron who just had to sneeze practically next to me had to infect me with whatever. I'm not even putting a label on it, just treat symptoms. DH is going out of town next 3 days so I'd like to do some thrifting and grocery shopping quietly without coughing fits, even small ones, or blowing my nose (which is inevitable wearing a mask that's warm and encourages at least one good blow). Have to go over MIL's to do laundry so he has what he wants to take/wear clean. Haven't been able to visit MIL last couple weeks being sick. Turns out the growth on side of her face is cancerous. She's been to one oncologist who said it's curable with chemo, which she doesn't want. Seeing another oncologist on Monday about radiation. Also getting PET scan and ultrasound to check swollen leg for clot(s).

Hope everyone is having a nice day It's pretty mild here, 71 right now. Warming up tomorrow with a chance of rain Thurs-Sat. I washed the winter comforter and hung it out, hopefully it's drying out there. I have a large capacity washer that I bought during the pandemic when my washer crapped out. But I have an older smaller dryer that I got some years back at a garage sale for $40. I mostly use the clothesline anyway.
Wow, Denise I am surprised that hibiscus do so well there! I have 3 Rose of Sharon and I just planted a blue one I got from etsy. I planted one last year too but it didn't survive the drought. My Rose of Sharon have done well when it freezes here (I cover them) but I have had several varieties of hibiscus over the years that have not made through a hard freeze. I didn't realize they did well so far north.
Well the good news is DH is getting the new tub in Saturday. The bad news is it didn't occur to me that things have to dry and/or cure so I won't be able to actually use it until at least Monday. I need to quite grousing and just be glad that it is getting in that quickly, but I can't help but to be a bit disappointed as somehow I had convinced myself I'd be soaking on Saturday evening lol.
Stay, glad you are feeling better and prayers for MIL.

Is it possible the chemo the docs were referring to are topical cream and not oral pills?

Kudos to you, Jes..for being able to get in and out of a tub. I have lost that ability.
It was nice out today and in the mid 60's. So I was able to get out and rake up 2 more wheelbarrows full of pine tree twigs. I am encouraged since I can almost do as much as I could last spring.
