I sometimes cross post my vintage to Etsy. I've been meaning to add more to my store there, and I finally started getting some things listed. I decided to do the calculated shipping for items over 1 lb. That's how I do it on eBay. So I used the same information I do for ebay, measurements and weight. The exact same information on the eBay listing, but the shipping is showing a lot higher on Etsy. Like things that are about 1 lb 8 oz I've shipped many times on eBay for between 7 and change and 9 and change, depending on where the buyer is. On Etsy it's showing examples; shipping to Chicago would be $11.50, shipping to New York $13.50!!! I've never paid that much on eBay unless something is over 3 lbs or so. Is anyone else experiencing this? I went back and edited them all to a flat rate, just guessing. And Ground Advantage isn't even an option, you have to choose parcel select.

Is it possible Etsy didn't negotiate the reduced rates like eBay has?

Is it possible Etsy didn't negotiate the reduced rates like eBay has? You know, I thought that all online shipping now has the discounted rates? Or maybe I'm mistaken about that. But it says something about you get Etsy's reduced rates when you are listing, so I don't know?

I have only sold a few items on Etsy and the shipping seemed okay. I designate a First Class rate for Ground Advantage.
Their shipping rates are impossible to understand and that is why I quit listing on there years ago. But I started again, for some insane reason.
The listing fees eat up any profits.

I've sold a lot on Etsy and have never used Etsy shipping. It has always been wonky and you can get better rates elsewhere.

I just sold a needlepoint tissue box on Etsy. I had set my shipping to a flat rate of $5.50.
Does anyone know how to find the selling fees per purchase?

Nevermind. I found the fee thing on my cell, since it apparently isn't shown on my desktop.

Do you have to change them to get Ground Advantage (the new pkg FC)? If not, maybe they are defaulting to Priority. I don't sell there, so not sure if that was a requirement. ebay required everyone to do it but had no way to enforce, so I'm still defaulting to FC, but they programmed the label system to print them as GA.

I have a flat rate set up for First Class and the label prints out as GA.
