On this day in history: Tina Turner was born on November 26, 1939. Her birth name was Anna Mae Bullock. Casablanca, starring Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart, premiered on November 26, 1942, in New York City. Here's a challenge: Do you recognize this man, born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on November 26, 1922? I'm sure you're familiar with his work.

Cooling down a bit here. Had to drag out the Winter walking gear and use them today. I think some are expecting snow over the next few days. Not here though.

We are expecting flurries for the next few days. Bleh
Flurries don't bother me, but an accumulation leads me to worry when I have a carrier pick-up. The road beside me is privately owned (now by my ex), and is not treated by the state. So it can be a real ice rink.
The carrier has to come up that road for pick-up. When we have an accumulation, I do put my packages in my driveway, which is a little easier to get to.

We're on snow watch. Shouldn't be bad going to work tomorrow with temps just above freezing, but might be challenging at 5am on Tuesday when any precip will definitely be snow. Just hope roads are good. Will deal with it if/when it happens.
Pic is a young Charles Schultz, creator of Peanuts. My SIL was paralegal in department that dealt with copyrights and unlicensed Peanuts merchandise. Charles Schultz visited the firm shortly before or after she got married (mid-90s) and created a Peanuts comic strip about her upcoming marriage. Wonder what happened to it in the years they haven't gotten along and finally got a divorce.

StayTuned is correct! It is Charles Schulz.
I'm sorry I can't get my fall foliage picture to post. It's HUGE and I can't seem to resize it.

I've had breakfast and am now tapping my toe waiting for the frost to finally melt so I can go on a run. The DH is wondering if he'll have to bus it to work instead of riding his bike due to the cold snap we're having, especially tomorrow when we're liable to have frozen fog, as well. We were also going to clean the roof today.
The mountains are suddenly covered in snow. Rains are coming back later in the week, though, so we'll be back to normal (40s and drizzle).

Chap, bet the Huskies are thrilled OSU lost, too. Bumped Michigan back to #2 and Washington up to #3. Bucks slid down from #2 to #6.

Beautiful pic, Emerald!
I just saw Philly on MSNBC....lots of snow. Ugh. Well, it's pretty, but it needs to stay off the roads.

If anyone needs batteries for their Christmas decorations, Walmart has an early Cyber Monday sale today on batteries, but I think you need a WM+ membership to get the price today.

Had a great Thanksgiving and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, sorry it is late. I did get on computer the whole long weekend, BF and I put down the electronics when we are together. We finished the Turkey Trot and we were NOT last lol. Took us and hour and 7 minutes to complete it. Had a great time, BF loved the exercise so I am going to keep scheduling us to physical activity, I am very physically active he is working on it. Did some cleaning at his house and Sunday cooked our own Thanksgiving that was Whole 30 compliant. Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, Brussels sprouts and cranberry sauce. It was delicious, I think if we had people over and served it no one would know it was part of an eating plan. Today's plan is to make compliant rolls so we can have turkey sandwiches for dinner, during the first month of Whole 30 you cannot combine foods to make bread, pancakes, etc. Once you get into the maintenance part you can make and eat them occasionally just not as a regular part of daily eating.
Hope everyone found lots of bargains and enjoyed their time with family and friends, 2 and 4 legged, lol.

I have an item in my AMZ cart that went UP in price today by $5 and AMZ slapped a "Cyber Monday Deal" notice on it. Yeah, right. A really good deal. LOL.

I have two orders coming from Chewy..one order from last night and then another one this morning. Majority is Kenya's food that was 1/3 to 1/2 price or less. Just watch...in a week or less she will change her mind and not eat it.
Chewy has some good deals on cat stuff. Bought a cat tree for 25% off. I plan on changing out my cat trees this winter and needed one more to make the change off.

Val, that is the truth. There is a meme on Facebook about that. I can believe it. I noticed not one, but four items in my cart increased in price and have a "Cyber Monday Deal" notification on them. I don't mind the price increase, prices on stuff in my cart goes up and down all the time. But to RAISE the price and then tell me it's a Cyber Monday Deal? LOL! I'll wait to buy or find it somewhere else. Or maybe a price increase IS a Cyber Monday deal to AMZ? Twila was annoyed with me. I wasn't paying attention and had piled some stuff on the file cabinet by my desk and she couldn't lay on it. She forgave me once I took the stuff off. I also found the Christmas throw that goes on the foot of the bed and put it out. Twila and Simon are curled up on it. I think I've been forgiven. But I really do need to get that bookcase for behind the futon assembled. Twila now gets up on the back of the futon, gives me a pitiful look, and then hops down to curl up on the coffee table or cat tree in the living room. Yeah, I know. I'm a bad cat mom

I saw them and have them in my third order cart. I picked up two regular trackballs But 1 Get 1 Free at Pet Supplies Plus last week so undecided about more trackballs.
Chewy sent me an inquiry on my second order asking if I had made it since I had made another first order within 24 orders. Who knows...maybe they will get a third order within 24 hours.

Please join me in hoping I sold my Hallmarks. A guy is supposed to meet me in the morning. I spent half an hour loading up my SUV with boxes of ornaments. Paying cash. Meeting me at Target. We all know how the Marketplace is. Full of no shows.
$900 which is better than nothing. I was starting to worry I was going to have to re-tub them and haul them upstairs.

...we're liable to have frozen fog, as well... I grew up in cold country, but I had never heard of frozen fog. Had to google it. I think it's usually to be found in wet marine climates in the unusual times when we have below freezing weather? The fog hangs in the air and drapes the trees, and freezes on anything it touches, sometimes with stunning effects. It doesn't stick to people, but breathing it in while doing aerobic activity kind of makes the lungs burn a little.
staytuned - you can bet the Huskies are stepping high, wide and handsome - we'll see what happens on Dec 1 against Oregon.
allikat - I'm glad you guys had fun on the Turkey Trot - you did a good time! It might be fun to have a regular outing somewhere, short hikes and longer walks, as something to do together. The DH and I go hiking together, for instance. He doesn't run or do a ton of walking, so we start out slow with short hikes and increase distance (I'm used to distance on foot).
That's a gorgeous photo!

All went great. Cash is king. Took a huge loss but the ones left were mainly duds that would sell for $3-8 each. He got a little over 300 ornaments including collector sets. Also included my collector books and 2 or 3 stuffies.
not worth my time and energy to list them.

Hi, hope everyone is doing well. My sprained toe seems to be improving. I can't squeeze it in a regular shoe yet, but it doesn't seem as tender. It really sucks to incapacitate yourself! Also it made me feel a bit fragile and at my age (57) definitely a bit scary. Then again like my friend said; at least I didn't fall on my face lol. Very true.
I did make a few Amazon Cyber Monday purchases. Just 3 things that were in my cart that actually went down (sorry Val lol). Other than that I had cleaning and laundry to catch up on plus I wanted to get Christmas out of the attic. Outside Christmas is done, it might be Saturday before inside Christmas is done. Then I can start wrapping presents
Wow, frozen fog, that's crazy. I remember reading a (fiction) book some years ago about this woman who goes to study the polar bears in the arctic and she made a fire and the smoke froze in the air. I looked it up and it's actually a thing. That's way too cold!!

It was 12 degrees with wind chill at 5am this morning when I left for work. Lucky only a stray snowflake here and there until I kept driving north (work is too close to Lake Erie for my preference). Snow progressively got heavier and by the time I got there, everything was covered in white. Lucked out because shortly after than it really started coming down and got 5-6" in the next few hours before it thankfully stopped around 9:30am. The primary snowbelt, upper NE corner of OH, already got over 13" in places and up to another 6" could be added by tomorrow morning. Worst part was the serious lack of snow plows taking care of roads. At least roads were cleared and dry by the time I left at 2pm.
Glad temps are supposed to be going into the 40s for highs rest of the week so this should be melted off and just a bad memory by Thursday.

It was cold last night but I knew it was going to be colder this morning. So glad I loaded up the car then. Snowed like crazy while I was walking this morning but it was a hit and run. 20 minutes or so.

We will occasionally get frozen fog here. Being close to Lake Michigan can sometimes cause it to be humid. Unfortunately it also puts us in the snow belt where we can get several inches to several feet of snow at a time. No biggie! I've lived here all my life and I don't plan on moving.
What's really kinda fun in the winter when it gets below zero is to blow bubbles outside and watch them freeze. Then when you poke them they shatter like glass. (Little things amuse me! LOL)

jesmelric - you are not fragile! Anyone can twist a toe like that - I swear, toes must be the most banged up, stubbed parts of the human body. All it means is that you're motoring around about your business - this kind of thing happens, and I hope it heals up quickly. I'd love to be 57 again, though - that's some years ago for me.
We're still having a bit of the frozen fog, and the DH still can't ride to work. He has a three mile walk down a long hill and back up to the bus, so he gets some exercise in. Rains are coming in, in a day or two and it will warm up back to our sloppy mid-40s. My running friend and I are leaving for Honolulu in just over a week. He's avalanched with work but managed to fit in yet another marathon (the notorious Seattle Marathon) last weekend - which included deviating off the course twice to take care of pet obligations for his pet care job. He somehow managed to fit two pet visits into the 26 miles of running, scurrying through the neighbourhoods to get back onto the course and finish under the wire. He's my craziest friend and I have some nutty friends (probably why they're my friends lol). I'm still bummed that I didn't leave enough time to finish training for the marathon, but looking forward to the 10k event and the other 4 or so miles I'll get in to meet my friend and run with him to Diamond Head. Also our sight seeing.
Less than a week after that I fly to England. It's a good thing I don't really suffer from jet lag.
