I agree with labby about getting a professional, Chap. If you fall off the roof, DH may have to do everything all alone. Balance can be affected by age for a variety of reasons. Mine is a bit off due to a hip injury creating some nerve damage, though it has majorly improved since new PT. I can stand on one foot with no problem, hop up and down, run up and down the steps, etc., but still I have to weigh the risk of being 12 feet or whatever up in the air clambering onto a roof (actually, clambering off is harder), and I just don't trust myself now to do it. The DH is fine with going up onto the roof and I'm fine with climbing the ladder up to the top to hand him various things, manage hoses for moss killer, etc., I'm just not climbing up onto the roof itself anymore - yes, it's not worth it! We had a brunch today for nephew who eloped lol and now we have a wonderful niece as well! He's a minister and we're like "Oooo...an eloping minister!" LOL. They're a wonderful pair! We're having another party on the day when they were supposed to be married. It hit 65 today and people are confusedly going around wearing down coats with shorts, or sleeveless shirts and heavy flannel pants, etc. it'll be in the 40s and raining in a few days so no one bothers to take out their summer duds, anyway. Had a nice run this morning - I had to go right after dawn in order to be back into to shower and get all the way south of town for the brunch. It's a really nice time to be outside!

As we all get older, look out for yourself. Scammers and pressure sales people abound. My Dunkin friend has done a few things lately that make me think he is not thinking things through. The first one - I am not sure of. His wife inherited a sum of money and I think that has a bit to do with not thinking things through.
The first big expense was his BILs both used part of their inheritance on solar panels. My friend is about 70 years old. Not sure how much return he is going to see on huge solar panels going across his backyard. He tried to tell us that any problems are thoroughly covered.
Second one was “hey you remember that home show we went to? We won a 7 day 6 night vacation”. Well they fell for this one from what I heard. Will confirm with him later but our mutual friend said he signed up for 17 vacations to anywhere he wants to go. I googled the vendors at the show and he signed up for a time share program with lots of low ratings.
He was one who almost fell for one of those “go to the store and buy gift cards to make your bill right” scams.
So think before doing anything involving your hard earned money.
PS: he has adult kids who should be watching after both he and his wife.

Great advice Labby! I am constantly inundated with scams for the elderly.
Our area recently had a news report that some of the solar panels installed in PA are inefficient. A high expense for very poor results. I can't find an article about it though.

PS: he has adult kids who should be watching after both he and his wife. Sometimes it's not that easy. Parents born during the Depression can be very secretive and tubborn about letting their kids know about their [parents] finances. Hell, that generation is stubborn about EVERYTHING. It often takes an outside person the parent trusts to change anything. My mom wouldn't let any of us help her with her finances until her bank officer stepped in. Chilly here, highs in the low 50s. I need to head up to New Braunfels for a Belk return. Guess I'll bundle up since it's 45-ish right now and I'll be back home long before we hit the 50s

I found some cute planter pots at Ross. I blame Kritter for sending me there I found some cute ones yesterday at Target.com. I wouldn't have thought to look at Target had they not shown up on a Google shopping search. Upstairs neighbor definitely has three cats. They were all sitting in the same window when I got back from Belk today. They were soooo cute - they looked like a sculpture or a portrait. I also got to meet my next door neighbors today. They've been hearing the ceiling critter too, plus in the walls. They asked if I had a dog because they were hearing scratching in the wall between our units. I laughed and said I was about to ask them the same question. So far so good, no critter for the last several nights. Of course, I probably jinxed myself by saying that and the critter will be back tonight
