Dawn, were your patients awake or sedated? I've had 2 cardioversions and neither one hurt. I don't remember anything from the first one. Yesterday I remember a big kick in the chest but no real pain. I remember waking up suddenly and thinking "WTF?". Apparently I wasn't just thinking it . Nothing hurt, no pain, and I'm always happy to entertain the nursing staff . It really was funny. My first CV, the PA doing it upped my oxygen to compensate for my sleep apnea. Worked great. Didn't feel a thing. The doc yesterday adjusted the drugs down instead of upping the O2. I suspect that might account for the different experiences. I'm sitting here with an ice bag on my chest. The pads left light burns. I told the staff it would but no one believed me. . I should be able to go home today so all is good.

All 4 heavy boxes of cat litter from my Chewy order were delivered this morning. I just happened to see the FedEx driver walking up the sidewalk with the 2nd box and asked him to bring them into my living room which he did. Each box weighs at least 50 pounds and that is way over my lifting restrictions. Love it when a plan comes together.

My FEDEX guy dropped 18 can of progresso soup down in front of the garage instead of carrying it up the two stone steps to put it on the porch where I could just flip the boxes in through the door. That was a hard haul-in through the entire garage and mud room to get it into the house. Walmart will usually split my orders into several boxes, but the canned goods always seem to get thrown into one box. I'm going to place separate orders at the same time from now on as they won't be able to combine separate orders in one large box.

I was very lucky today that I just happened to catch the guy. If he had only made one trip, I would have probably missed him but he was having to carry one box at a time so my window of opportunity increased.

Val, What happened if you care to tell us? Hope you are feeling better! I have hypertrophic cardiomyopothy (it's heredity) and had an afib attack. My heart wouldn't convert to normal sinus rhythm with drugs so they did a cardioversion. Doc went over some future options to help prevent the afib, which we'll discuss in more detail at my follow up visit. I have to give myself a shot twice a day until my INR gets up, but hopefully that will be mid-week this week if not earlier. Well, so far the only cat happy to see me is Simon. Twila and Trixie are still hiding. That's OK, Simon will get all my attention while we both go sit and watch TV for a little bit. Then I have to head out to the grocery store and Walmart/CVS to pick up my Rx. Maybe by dinner time the girls will decide they want some attention

Dawn R, I just thought of something. Were you maybe confusing cardioversion with defibrillation? Defibrillation is a much, much higher voltage shock that cardiversion. Defib is what you see on all the doctor shows, when they lose the heartbeat and use the "paddles" to zap the patient's heart and bring them back to life. Seems to me defib would definitely hurt like hell

I found a good price on cleaning product refill on Walmart.com so ordered 4 gallons weighing 8 lbs. each. Had them delivered to MIL's and was there doing laundry when FedEx showed up. Nice young woman carrying the heavy box and I called out to just leave it behind my Cube, which she did and set it down nicely, probably happy she didn't have to carry it farther. Put one gallon in Cube to take home and other 3 with my stash of laundry detergent in back basement. I'm definitely a bit out of shape hauling the box in the garage to open up. Glad you're doing much better, Val, and glad you're home reunited with the kittehs, even if 2 don't appreciate you yet. DH was in the kitchen for a bit last night, so I went to investigate. I saw the microwave going and had to put my face right up to the door to see what he was making. Saw "mug" with water bubbling over and I swear as soon as I straightened up to turn it off, there was a LOUD explosion that blew the door open. Egg exploded, and I mean exploded. Thankfully, the "mug" was a glass Pyrex measuring cup and didn't explode with it. I'm still a bit traumatized as I was literally 2 seconds from having the door smash me in the face and would have been worse if the glass shattered. I cleaned everything up and we found this morning the door wouldn't shut or stay shut. DH took it to work and apparently able to fix it. I bought it probably 25 years ago and paid $80. The main reason we still like it is because it's taller inside than most microwaves today and able to reheat travel mug of coffee or tea.
Update: DH was able to fix the microwave. Switch that holds door shut/opens was stuck and he was able to free that. Also, replaced fuse that blew. Back home, in place and works fine again. He won't be putting eggs in there again.

Oldest DD had to have a cardioversion a few years ago. She had what we were told was a benign heart murmur at birth and found out a few years ago it was not benign but an actual hole. She had to have it repaired, they put in mesh the same way they do an angioplasty. She then had several scary episodes of afib and had to have the cardiversion. She said it didn't hurt at all but her husband (boyfriend at the time) said it was scary to watch and that her eyes rolled back in a very dramatic way. She ended up getting an ablation procedure and thank goodness (KNOCK ON WOOD!) has been fine since.
We went to an estate sale today. They advertised designer clothes. It started Thursday and when we got there this morning I was wondering why there were so many clothes left. OMG. $100 plus for Tory Burch Dresses, $260 for a wool Dolce and Gabbana dress that wasn't very stylish and was obviously missing a belt. $50 for a Free People dress. $25 for a dress from Express! Aha, no wonder. And they said the clothes were 30% off, but not the designer ones. I mean they were WAY over priced, we left in a hurry.

Those people bring my items in bags, so the max is maybe 6 cans per double bag. Of course, I have to split those down to 3 or 4 cans since I am feeble.

I think it depends on what you order. I just ordered some shoes that needed to be shipped plus 2 boxes of aspirin to make the free shipping minimum. Even though the aspirin is available in the store, it is being shipped because it was included in an order that is being shipped. There could be an override with it being delivered from the store but right now it still shows as being shipped.
Both of my nearest stores now have their own Walmart delivery vans so they aren't using DoorDash anymore which is a good thing because DoorDash sucks at Walmart deliveries here.

I can't figure out the home deliveries, unless the items were delivered from another store. I have had coffee, Lipton soup and Gatorade delivered separately, to name a few.

((((Psychopoodle Frankie)))) ((((Val)))
Told the nurse I have tasted something worse...the time I accidentally brushed my teeth with bengay.
I will never forget the time, when I was a kid, when Dad accidentally grabbed the tube of shaving cream and put it on his toothbrush instead of the toothpaste (early in the morning, half asleep). I heard this EEEERRRAAAGHH!!! From my normally quiet father, and then he swore (which he usually never did).
I'm glad you're OK, Val!
After that startlingly sunny day we're back to rain and clouds, which is OK - fortunately it doesn't matter when I'm out running as long as it's not too cold.
Getting ready to set up my little Click n' Grow garden since the pepper seed capsules are now here. I'll have basil and two kinds of peppers.

Seems to me defib would definitely hurt like hell No, the difference between the two is when the shock is delivered and the amount of energy you start with. Defibrillation is asynchronous where cardioversion is synchronized to the QRS. Cardioversion is a lower level (50-200J) then defibrillation (300-360J). In an entire 25 year career, I encountered very few patients that were conscious with V.tach and needed defib, but many with unstable a.fib/a.flutter and even more with unstable SVT that required cardioversion. We rarely had the opportunity to sedate patients in the pre-hospital environment as we were usually called because something catastrophic occured. I hope you are home and feeling well.

Both of my nearest stores now have their own Walmart delivery vans so they aren't using DoorDash anymore which is a good thing because DoorDash sucks at Walmart deliveries here. We don't have that type of service available here. I even looked into getting the Walmart Plus program that you pay a yearly fee to get deliveries directly from the store along with Paramount+ and some type of gas station discount (similar to Amazon Prime). I called and spoke with a program representative to see if my area qualifies for the program, but no luck. We are just way too far away from a Walmart store to qualify, nearest Walmart is 3 towns over and then so far out. So, I need to order everything as a regular online order but another issue is that so many items are marked as in-store pickup only and out-of-stock for shipping. When they do become available for shipping, it's constantly changing, is when I stock up on our most used items that are good pricing. That Progresso Chickarina soup is 4.98 at our local grocery store, Walmart has it for 2.18 per can. I really wish we had a Walmart store near us.

I am lucky that our Walmart is only 2 miles away. I do have the Plus program and I think it is $99. My card never worked for the gas, so I gave up on that.
My other local Walmarts are 10 miles away and about 7 miles away. They are everywhere around here. Otherwise we have Giant Eagle and Shop n Save. Both of those are so overpriced.
And, of course, we have a lot of Aldi stores, one of which will soon be built 2 miles from me.

We rarely had the opportunity to sedate patients in the pre-hospital environment as we were usually called because something catastrophic occured. That makes sense. Both of mine were planned, not emergency so I was sedated. Didn't feel anything with the first one. The one yesterday was sort of a tingly warm kick by a mule that annoyed the he!! out of me since I was having a nice nap I'm glad it did that though, I have an idea of what it might be like if I have to get a defibulator put in later down the road I'll know what to expect if it has to zap me After a nice long sleep last night, all is well today. Nice sunny day today with a forecast high of 69. I actually sat at my dining room table today to eat breakfast like a real person. Maybe I should do that every morning. It was nice, watching all the activity out my dining room window.

The Amazon delivery van just pulled up in front of house to deliver the 2 boxes of aspirin.
Shoes were shipped yesterday.
