Hack jobs have been replacing the underground electric in our development. They powered it up Monday. Already blew it out tonight. 5 electric trucks here trying to fix the contractor’s screwup. We got our power back a bit ago but some here are still without power. The subcontractor has been hitting water, cable and Verizon lines. They cut people’s driveways and sidewalks to get at the wiring.
They finished at 3 AM.

We are getting a wintry mix today. Snow, freezing rain, sleet and rain. It should be clear by the time I leave for work - should be rain. Working inside so I can stay dry, I hope.

Only 15 listings and nothing sold in a couple of months until today. Hardly any views on anything so figured I would get through the holiday postal crunch without having to go to the post office.
Then out of nowhere, something sold overnight. Yikes, major shipping price sticker shock. A little chilly for me today but at least it is not raining so off to stand in line for a scan. Nope, don't use the kiosk as it is usually not working for some reason.

My office is apparently going to be the favorite room in the apartment. I came back from getting a coffee refill and found Twila sitting on the windowsill, Trixie sitting in the short cat tree at the end of the desk, and Simon sitting in my office chair They all gave me a "what?" look Watch it. Simon may be entrepreneurial and you'll be fighting for computer time.

Good point! I did once get a picture of Hootie shopping on eBay. If Simon starts insisting on computer time, I'll pull the laptop out of the closet and set it up for him. Plumbers are due sometime today and the water will be shut off for the entire building until they finish. I feel sort of sorry for the rest of my building neighbors since it's my shower that is causing the hut down. What I don't get though is why the previous tenant or cleaning crew didn't notice and report it? Off to run some errands and then it's unpack boxes the rest of the afternoon. All my organizing stuff came in so I have no excuse not to finish unpacking

It sounds like the previous tenant and the cleaning crew missed several things that should have been reported. Bought my second set of deer for my backyard this morning. I was thinking about waiting it out until after Christmas sales but the deer that I have been watching are selling out so I didn't want to miss getting them. www.walmart.com/ip/Holiday-Time-3-Piece-Light-up-Rattan-Look-Deer-Family-with-210-Clear-Incandescent-Christmas-Lights/441181763I was at one of my Walmarts yesterday and they have close to 60 unsold artifical Christmas trees stacked in their outside garden department. My other Walmart store has only a few left so don't know what happened at the overstocked store. Granted the overstocked one is a Super store but not that super.

Yay for me! Today is the start of my 21st year since being diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Had an oncology appt today to find out that my EKG showed an inferior infarct (possible heart attack). And my hypoglycemia diet is certainly not heart-healthy.
As the problems pile up. Geesh. More challenges, but it could be worse.

Congrats on the good news, Denise!
Plumbers never made it here so the repair (and water shutoff) was moved to Monday. It doesn't surprise me, given they're using an outside plumber.

Heck my EKG from way back when I was on the PD showed a possible mild infarct. I didn’t worry about it.
I wouldn’t worry about the diet either.
Do what works.

I am wondering why my cardio dr. didn't mention it. I think that I know when it happened-mid Oct. I got very hot and dizzy and passed out for a few minutes. My BP was 185/115.
But that started the ball rolling with all of the tests.
The weirdest part of all of this is that my BP goes too high before meals (155/95, typically). And a half hour later it goes as low as 70/55.

Yep, they were 25% off when I bought them. I will now have 2 sets of 3 deer each. Those others that you posted are out of my deer budget even at 50% off. Got another foster this afternoon.

We got done work early today. We have a great housing officer who went out ahead of us and threw the kids out (nicely).
Funny thing is the college holiday party was Friday 10a-2p and at 3 PM they fired a member of senior staff🤣😱. Word has it he treated women like crap and I am betting the ones that left filed a lawsuit. That dept has been bleeding employees since he started.

I bought a console table to use as a TV stand. White metal with glass shelves and matched my coffee table really well. I opened it tonight to assemble it and it was a disaster. The styrofoam had started disintigrating so it got all over the place. I'm surprised the glass hadn't broken. The metal parts had rust all over them, and when I put the side pieces upright to start to assemble them, a lot of rust came out the bottom. On top of all that, neither top bar would fit on one of the side bars. I packed it all up and it's going back to Kohls. It's heavy. Ugh. Good thing I'm not on the second floor anymore

I put in for a female Lab that is a rescue. The foster mom contacted me to see if I have any questions. Will have to think of some. We have had 2 dogs come to us that we had to return because they were really bad. One bit me head to toe and the other was very dominant and bad. The second one finally ended up in a permanent foster home because he got returned so many times. The first one came up north and had not been in foster. He tore my mom’s sweater off her. I had told them I had an elderly person living with me.
So I will have to think of some questions.

If anyone is in an organizing mood, this under the sink drawer+shelves is really nice. Currently there is a $6 off coupon available. If you want to buy more than one, though, you'll need to do each one as a separate order because the coupon is only good per order, not per unit purchased. I especially like the non-skid feet on the bottom. www.amazon.com/dp/B09XMFT542?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1Well, I won't be decorating outside for Christmas this year I just can't get into it, this close to Christmas. It takes almost a day to get all the lights up, then at least a half a day taking them all down and packing them up for next year. I'm still unpacking stuff and it's only 1 week until Christmas. I don't mind doing all the work if I have time to enjoy it. Not happening this year. Oh well, it's my fault for moving in December I remind myself that downstairs units in my floorplan don't come along very often and giving up outside Christmas decorations is worth it. I am putting up indoor decorations so it's not a total loss I also found some bottle brush trees on half price, they'll go really well with the MCM Christmas village I'm setting up next year. Twila is still just a little too much kitten to put them out this year. I do have one out, so far so good. No one has knocked it off. Of course, I also picked the one with the least amount of loose, danging decorations (for less kitty temptation). Speaking of half off, several retailers have Christmas items half off - indoor and outdoor decorations, pet toys, wreathes, etc. Might be a good time to look for next year if anyone wants to score some good deals. /PSA LOL

I had to get all kinds of organizing stuff. I gained square footage when I moved (obviously, with a second bedroom) but I ended up losing storage space. Both bathrooms are smaller than my previous one so lost cabinet space there, no linen closet in bath #2, bath #1 went from a double linen closet to a single, I lost a top and bottom double kitchen cabinet, and the current laundry room has about 1/3 of the storage the last place had. The master closet is about the same as the old place, but the closet in the second bedroom is a joke. So...organize it was

Today is our 40th wedding anniversary! (Here's to you, dad! You said it wouldn't last! Lol) ::applause:: Congratulations! My dad said I'd never be married after I broke up with my then-boyfriend at 37. I've been married twice since then (the second one was the right one). ETA: Snowing off and on for the last few days, though it's now coming down in earnest. The DH went for a bike ride and pulled in just as it was thickening. No going out and playing in it for me - I've got a nasty cold and haven't been able to get out of the house for several days.

Congratulations, sunset!
I got one of those under sink organizers when we moved in our apartment as well as one that's double wide on the bottom with half width upper part for the cabinet next to the sink. Ours are heavy duty white coated "wire" and they look and work great after at least 25 years.

About the girl Lab we were going to meet - They just sent a message that they did not think it would be a good fit. Rather know sooner than later.

Bummer, labby. Sounds like you need a lab whisperer like Kritter the cat whisperer. You're right though - it's better to be told ahead of time that a potential 4 legged addition won't be a good match for you. Fingers crossed you find one that does fit.
