If you ship your sales by UPS, be aware that for the next several weeks more and more of the Surepost packages will be transferred to the USPS for final delivery. (During slower times of year, UPS will just deliver the Surepost packages like regular UPS shipments.) When UPS does that, they mark the shipment as "delivered". It's possible your buyers will get that notice and wonder where their package is. You can track the package on the USPS website using the USPS number, but sometimes there is a day or two delay before the USPS number populates data on the website. Just FYI/PSA. Although it's also probably good to know this for your own personal shopping As for FedEx, the package just drops off the tracking when it's transferred to the USPS. Fun times.

What size packages go to Surepost? I usually only use UPS for big oversize packages.

According to UPS, packages up to 70 lbs can ship via Surepost and Smartpost. From what I understand it's up to the seller/retailer when to use the hybrid options. You should have various UPS options when you ship UPS, if you pick UPS Ground, that's the regular, original ground delivery. No connection to the USPS.
Normally it's not a big deal with UPS. Most of the time my Surepost packages are delivered by UPS. But at the holidays, both companies hand over a lot more to the USPS. It's not a big deal, but it can be a problem when the buyer gets a notice from UPS that their item has been delivered but in reality it was turned over to the USPS for actual final delivery to the buyer. And I'm not kidding when I said for FedEx, the package just drops off of tracking when it's turned over to the USPS.
