ON my national news program, they stated that most stores will no longer offer free returns. That might help us. The retailers I shop at that offer free returns for online purchases are still offering them. TBH though, if I think there is a chance I might need to return something, I buy from a retailer who also has returns to store and a store near me. The exception is Skechers, who has a very easy online return procedure.

Agree - I think people are tired of being online, and realise the importance of the analog life.
Favorite running route along the River Wensum (it's hard to see, but there's a path the runs right along the river):
Viking era tower grafted onto a 14th century church.
Time for some good old 12th century hospitality at the Coach and Horses!

Dog walkers stroll through their neighbourhood - a pretty typical mash of architecture anywhere from 14th century to 20th century. The half-timbered frame house is Tudor, the one glimpsed next to it is 13th-14th century. Other buildings are Georgian and the one facing the camera is probably Victorian. Tudor era doorways are fine - the average well-fed Elizabethan wasn't all that much shorter than the average European today, but one is always banging their head on those 13th/14th century door frames - plague times meant short commons which lead to shorter people. Times were better in Elizabeth's day, so the average well-fed man, for instance, was closer to 5' 8". Those little Medievals were tough, though - they also had like one pub per capita it seems lol.

Is "warm" beer still the norm at pubs or have they gone the "chilled" route?

It depends on the brew - a bitter is served cool whereas a pale is served colder. IPAs are served chilled. Porters a bit warmer. The temp tends to bring out the particular flavour and mouth feel so it really depends.
