Good morning, everyone! Blowing right through November and I'm already hoping we blow through winter just as fast. Have patches of snow on vehicles and primary "snow belt" already picked up a few inches of snow yesterday. Big contrast from 60s-70s last week down to 30s with wind chills making it feel like 20s already. Thank goodness for heat and plenty of tea bags. Hope everyone makes the best of their day and those in the warmth really appreciate it.

We went from the high 80s to the high 50s, no nice period of 60s-70s. I like the cold weather, but a transition period of high 60s would have been nice . Oh well. Chilly and rainy here this morning.

Sold my old sheepskin Rav 4 seat covers. Tried to tell the guy he had to check to see if they would fit as they were made for that make and model year. He was buying them for a mini Cooper. At least he lives in the city so he can flip them when he finds out they don’t fit.
Sold them on the marketplace. Took 2 years.

I had to hurry up with the chat thread because I woke up to an email from DH at work saying he bent over and split his pants and asked me to bring him another pair. I had to hurry up chugging down coffee to fully wake up and going to the rescue. He must have been watching for me because he walked out before I even got out of my Cube. Funny enough, but he was wearing an oversized, long sweater that I joked gave him a "grandpa" look. Best LOL I've had in awhile.

Long sweaters do have their purpose. LOL at the thought of him walking around in split pants. I asked a question on a retailer website about how long a top is. Someone replied, " It was a gift for a friend so I no longer have it". Seriously? *SMH* Nevermind on the slow cooker (I deleted the info I posted earlier). It doesn't get very hot, not even on high. I have to pull out the old one to finish up the chili. The new one is going back. Darn, because it was a nice color.

Sunny and 53 on tap for here today. Not too bad. Yesterday's tax return at work was really complicated and I think I burned out my brain Today I think I'll work on something mindless, like the year-end checklist we've been needing since forever, and maybe upload some files to our digital file cabinet . Yep. Mindless, but still it's billable time.

34 degrees and we are having light fluffy snow. I missed the noon weather forecast, so I don't know if we will have an accumulation or not. Not ready for this.

We are getting wind driven rain starting any time now. Luckily I am working inside tonight.
Finally was able to move my winter clothes upstairs. Have one more tub to finish but hubby is going to have to carry that upstairs for me. Sad time of year. I hate putting away my warm weather clothes.
Ribs - just some minor reminders that they hurt. Was able to get out walking yesterday.

We just got enough snow here to cover the grass and the roads were just wet. But towards the mountains and ski areas, the roads were so bad that the main highway was closed.
It now has been raining and that will probably freeze.

I bet the ski areas are loving the snow.

Yep. Those areas got snow a few times already. I miss skiing since I was in the ski club in high school. But I break too easily now.

Cold today in the low 30's and very windy. The roads this morning were icy and there were a ton of wrecks.
But at least I don't live in NY! I forget who lives in NY, but stay safe!

That's like what you see on the FedEx website for smartpost packages. Seriously! If you like the faux sherpa lined slipper socks, Walmart has one style of Muk Luks on sale today: www.walmart.com/ip/seort/825583679Actually, WM has a lot of stuff on sale today. Cloudy and cold here today, 52 is our high. Weather forecast says the next several days will be downright cold - highs inthe 40s. But we're forecast for the 60s for Thanksgiving weekend. Hopefully that won't change.

The Black Friday sale stuff in my cart that wasn't on sale yet yesterday is now on sale. Made one order and may go back for another when I have time after shuffling these kittens around for the next several days.
I always wondered why these stores waited until Black Friday to put their stuff on sale when they could start earlier and get the shoppers that did not want to engage in the stampede to buy stuff. Looks like early sales are becoming a thing.

Personally I think the sales are much better this weekend than Black Friday, except for the trendy electronic stuff. But if you're wanting clothing, accessories, basic electronics, kitchen appliances, etc then for the past several years I've found this weekend to have the best prices. I'm not usually shopping trendy though. I had some cute Christmas decor in my cart at Bealls Florida that I liked but decided I didn't really need and just left them there. Logged in last night and saw the very nice pre-black Friday sale price and decided I did need them after all What I really want to score a good price on is a small electric fireplace. I'll need a space heater in the living room at the new apartment since the current one will be going in the office. A small white electric fireplace with mantel would be perfect If anyone needs to freshen up their spice collection, penzeys.com is running 21% off (enter code WIN at check out), plus if your order is over $10, you can enter 2FL code at checkout and you'll get a free jar of Florida Pepper blend, which is REALLY good on chicken, hard boiled eggs, baked potatoes and other goodies. Especially if you have to watch your salt and need to add flavor without adding salt. /PSA LOL

So glad I did, I see they went up this year a lot.

So glad I did, I see they went up this year a lot. I didn't realize how many different styles Muk Luks made until today. I've tried several styles (most of which are being returned) and discovered I like the short cabin socks the best. I swear they must have every length imaginable.

My Black Friday items that I ordered this morning from Walmart where just delivered by Marc. I thought they were being shipped but apparently not.
Not a problem.

Wow. Walmart is also giving $1 rapid rewards dollar for every $1 spent. Usually it's just $0.50 per $1.

I brought Chance in from the cat pen last night because of the nasty weather here. More closed doors in my house now.
I am supposed to take Dickins and Diego to a Petsmart today for their adoption program. The location is out on IH 35N which is way out of my bubble. Going to wait as long as I can to take them hoping the weather gets a little better.

Going to wait as long as I can to take them hoping the weather gets a little better. That's why I decided to wait until tomorrow morning to take some returns back to Belk in New Braunfels. I didn't relish the thought of driving up and back on a wet and slick I35 with a bunch of crazy rude drivers. The cats are lazing around alternating who demands petting (sometimes I think they get together and plan this) and I'm debating what flavored coffee I want to make. Life is good. Wet and chilly, but good

We took a gun shot wound class at the gun club today. The instructor was great.
Went to BJ Wholesale. A ton of cars in the lot but we were in and out. Not sure where everyone was. Spent $600 and didn’t even buy toilet paper, paper towels no detergent/cleaning supplies. Just so expensive anymore. Luckily we have supplies.
Then I went to Wegmans. Was hoping to get a garlic studded roast for Friday. Ended up with a pork roast. Did not buy a turkey this year. I just don’t enjoy it. I am working Thursday.
Day is shot. I have to convince hubby to help me color my hair yet. Ugh.🤣
BTW I started at the PD 38 years ago today. Feeling old.

It's alternately wet and sunny/cold here. Norwich (where we are right now) is a madhouse during the day - if things in the US are anything like they are here, I can see why internet sales are down - everyone is either out in the street strolling and/or drinking coffee, or packing the brick and mortars. At night they're in the pubs/theatres. We could barely get through Jarrold's, the big dept store here, to get some wool hiking socks for me.
We're doing 10-12 miles a day in the countryside, though had a long town walk today. This is from The Broads - a large water area near Norwich - it is man made - a huge lake created by the Medievals who dug peat here for heating. There is nowhere else I've been but England which has this dreamy landscape.

Made it out to the Petsmart and back. All the way there in the crazy traffic in the rain, I am asking myself "WTF are you doing?"
Then came back and picked up Chance and spent the afternoon at the Pet Supplies Plus.
I hope Diego and Dickins find good homes.

The retailers are trying to woo the shoppers back in the store. Why I have no idea. Seems like online sales would be more cost effective. OTOH, most still have expensive storefront leases so they probably need the traffic. Anyway, Kohls, JC Penneys, Macys and Belk are all having Black Friday sweepstakes, open only to in-store shoppers. Sorry, no, even the thought of winning a gift card still isn't enough to get me in your store at 7:00 a.m. Not happening. I decided to go on up to Belk late this afternoon since there were no traffic jams. Belk and the whole shopping center was busy.

ON my national news program, they stated that most stores will no longer offer free returns. That might help us.

Maybe because people in the stores are more likely to make impulse purchases. Happens to me all the time. I go into HEB to buy baby carrots and end up with a $35.00 credit card purchase and only 2.00 for carrots.
As for "free returms", I had a free total purchase. I opened the bag from Walmart with 3 pair of pants that I ordered on their Black Friday sale. They sent me the wrong size so I opened a return online and checked the Return to Store box. I think what happened is that they oversold the Medium size that I ordered so they sent me the Large size maybe thinking that I would gain enough holiday weight for them to fit. When I went back to reorder the Mediums, they were sold out. So, checked the Return To Store box and immediately received a credit for the total purchase price of the 3 pair of pants. No return necessary.
Good for me as a customer, I guess, but as a Walmart stock owner, STOP THAT! NO FREE STUFF!
When I took the kittens to the Petsmart yesterday, it was driving rain and 48 degrees and that outdoor type shopping center was also packed. First time I had ever been there and would have liked to visit several of the stores but it was driving rain and 44 degrees.
I think people like the holiday atmosphere when shopping this time of year that was missing during the Covid holiday seasons. I almost got sucked in by the holiday displays of cat toys in the Petsmart so I can see how that happens. IMO people like the looking and touching in person experience rather than just looking at pics on their phone.
