We are too in PA! We had a few cold nights 2 weeks ago. But this week has nighttime lows in 40's and daytime in 60's - 70's!

Cloudy and 71 on tap for here today. Then 81 tomorrow, 82 Friday. Bleah. I like the 70s better. How are the D boys today, kritter?

No sneezing but Dickins is still pretty snotted up. Diego seems to be doing a lot better.
I put some canned food down for Dickins and he just looked at it.
I would really like to get them into adoption at the Humane sSciety but that is on hold until they get well.

Try elevating the food bowl so Dickens doesn't have to put his head down. Sometimes it works. When they put their head down to eat, it causes more congestion in their little sinuses.

Christmas patio decorations have been purchased and are in the storage unit. I'll bring them to the new place when I empty out the storage unit. There were others shopping for Christmas decorations too, I wasn't the only one. I need one more thing but I think I'm going to have to go walk by the new place and eyeball the patio (or walk by a vacant unit of the same floorplan). I don't know if the patio is big enough for 3 of what I want, or if only one will fit on it.

I voted early because I hate going on Election day. Way too many people and not many mask up. Even though I was the only one there the workers weren't wearing masks.

How convenient that "Make Men Make Dinner Day" is the same day as "National Sandwich Day".

I'll have to say, the DH is a sandwich maker without equal - he makes a Dagwood every evening for dinner with sauteed mushrooms and salad on the side.
It's raining and blowing so much that the Goodwill down the road from us had to close due to power outage. I'm hoping our power stays on, we've already had one outage a few days ago.
We're staying in Winchester, UK for a week before going up to Norfolk Cty - it's a new place for us in Hampshire. Lots of medieval architecture, churches, hiking and pubs! Our favourite things.

Windy and wet here too- we already lost power briefly earlier but it came back on right away. This is a good reminder for our family that winter weather is coming and we need to get ready now. We haven't put any summer stuff away so I had to scurry around when it had stopped raining and take down patio umbrellas and bring the houseplants back indoors. And I'd better print shipping labels now. I sold a poster, thought I had the right size tube but was wrong... hope the office store has power!

We have to change to colder weather gear and put away the hoses and stuff. Once my ribs can handle hauling tubs up and down the steps I will finish putting away most of my warmer weather clothes. Hoses will probably be done later this month.
Ribs are feeling a bit better. Supposed to be light duty this Sunday thru Thursday but betting Captain missed that on the schedule. I think 2 inside guys are working the first part of Sun and Mon. If they have me outside I won’t be doing much. The person coming in at 7 can do the harder work.

Got my drivers license today, then I went and voted. Even had time to hit the grocery store before it got super packed with the after work crowd. Not a bad afternoon

Best buds. If you have cats, you need to get the straight tunnel (in the picture background, under the bar stools). Twila and Simon shoot thru that thing at warp speed chasing each other. Or one gets inside and bats at the other one thru the holes on the top. I have another one shaped like a Y, they like that one too but they can't go thru that one as fast LOL.

We had a squall yesterday and last night that knocked out the power to thousands in the area - power came back on early this morning. The City Light crews really do a good job - between the wind, rain, flying tree debris and falling branches/uprooting trees, this isn't an easy region for infrastructure.
So it's blown through and is now serene with partly cloudy skies and the temp is dropping, very quiet but grot n' gribble is everywhere on the roads. Still, it's a good day for a walk (can't run or bike outside yet, still have Covid breathlessness).

Kritter's not going to be happy next weekend. We're supposed to be in the low 60s/high 50s unless they change the forecast.

Those two foster misfits, Simon and Twila, finding each other in their own home really makes me smile. Neither one really bonded with any of the other cats when they were with me in foster and I think that is why Val initially picked each one of them.
Good job, Val!

Kritter's not going to be happy next weekend. We're supposed to be in the low 60s/high 50s unless they change the forecast. I saw that this morning and I am dreading it already. I hate this time of year...cold and dark so early. My happiness is that the building across the street has already strung their outside trees with fairy lights that I can see from my kitchen and dining room windows.

77 degrees in PA! Amazing! Breaking all kinds of records here.
Meanwhile, my friends who are raising money for St. Judes just passed up the first-place family with 10,153. I was mentally forced to donate again just to put them into first place. Highest in the nation!

My happiness is that the building across the street has already strung their outside trees with fairy lights that I can see from my kitchen and dining room windows. I'm going to have a bunch of multicolor Christmas light strands in assorted sizes that I won't be using this year. Want to borrow them? I can bring them over and we can string them up at your place for Christmas. They're all indoor/outdoor lights. Mini lights, C7 lights, C9 lights, net lights, you name it. Since I can't really have a tree with the current crew of cats, I go nuts with the lights. But I'm doing a new theme this year so the colors will be different. Which is why the multicolor strands won't be used. Hey, I came in 3rd place last year and I figured if I was going to place higher, I had to up my game.

My house was built apparently at a time when nobody plugged in anything outside because I have not electrical outlets outside.
I have some lights to string inside around the windows that I bought last year on sale so that will be the extent of my decorating. I also had solar lights around the cat pen but they quit so I bought some new ones to sting there. Off to Amazon to see what else they have in solar lights.

Cats don't care what you set the clock to. They know when it's food o'clock & you better feed them or face the consequences.
