One of the nice things about living in an apartment that just down the street from a really nice, large subdivision is that the apartment kids go there to trick or treat. No need to even turn the lights off. I don't know how they got the cat to sit for the picture, but I love the costume:

Angie took a pic of Mia at the bake sale. Barney had this same lion thing on 3 years ago in a pic when he was at the Halloween bake sale. Also the memorable sunflower costume. Don't they look like they are having fun?

Mia is such a sweetheart! I've been looking at Christmas lights, trying to decide which way to go this year. The complex does a patio decorating contest, 1st place get $100 HEB gift card, 2nd gets a $75 card and 3rd getsa $50 card. I won 3rd last year. Now that I'll be downstairs, however, the decorating options are endless! I'll use the decorations I have but I might change the colors up just a little. I can do that without spending a whole lot of $.

Quick question for you all....I just accepted an offer on eBay and PayPal is not an option for payment, it wants me to input my credit card. Is this a recent change as I just purchased a few things on Friday and was able to use PayPal. I absolutely hate giving my credit card to eBay. At least I had one tier of safety using PayPal.
Thanks and Happy Halloween.

val, I love the expression on the Starbucks kitty. Looks like "I said, take the damn picture already"! kritter, your Halloween kitties look like they've lost the will to go on. Caption: "there's no free lunch, apparently." Priceless.

I hope it's a "lucky lion's head" costume for Mia as it was for Barney to find a purr-fect furr-ever home, too.

LOL It was hard for Angie to get a good pic of Mia because every time she tried, Mia would turn her head like "I didn't sign up for this insanity."
All of the kittehs did really well during their time in the spotlight. I took Dickins and Diego the first day. They were having a bit of congestion either from an allergy to the mountain cedar that blew in the night before or a bit of an upper respiratory issue so they were not in top form Mia went the second day and she was bored stiff but did her best to step up.
Chance, the feral, went the third day and started off a bit rocky but he settled down and responded much better than I thought that he would. He will need a home that will be patient while he gets his bearings. It was a good chance to see how he responds to other peeps besides me.

How are Dickens and Diego today? They are all snuffed up and sneezing. Diego even convinced Dori to let him snuggle with her which was amazing since Dori has no use for any of the other cats. I first notice Diego and Dickins laying on a pillow next to her and the the next time I looked, Diego was wrapped up almost on top of her back.

I just emailed my vet and asked her if she wanted me to drop them off so she could check them out. Nice to have a relationship with a vet for someone like me with so many opportunities for vet attention. She usually just tells me what to do over the phone or in an email.
I see my doctor twice a year and don't even remember his name half the time. I won't even see him for the second visit of the year tomorrow because I am scheduled with the nurse practioner.

I have that giant flamingo in my den that we can string lights on. It came with lights but I took them off because the cats kept biting them.

Wow! The family that I posted about a few weeks ago who had a Skeletons for St. Jude event came in second place in the nation! The pictured house is the winner. Second photo is the Ruggieri family home who are friends of mine. i.imgur.com/Fw0hthi.jpg

So...who had trick or treaters last night? I didn't have any (as expected LOL).
Just checked where I can early vote on Friday and discovered I can go down the street from the drivers license office, and if the line is too long, then there is a place just up the street from my apartment. The county has a website where you can see how many votes have been cast at each early vote locations - for the reporting day and votes cast to date. I like it - it gives you an idea of the busy vs slow voting locations. I'll have to check Friday morning before I head out for my DL appointment. Friday is the last day of early voting so it may be busy no matter which location I go to.

I didn't have my porch light on but there were cars parked on both sides of the street unloading kids from around 6:30 to 8:30. Big traffic jam because cars trying to use the street in the middle lane had to back up if a car was coming from the opposite direction.
Guess the days of candy sourcing in your own neighbohood are long gone.

It rained here. We weren’t giving out candy but the minute hubby turned the lights back on, opened the dog door and went to bed, some kids came (8:30 PM which is late around here).

XRay was negative. Work aggravated the bruising. Taking 3 days off and then light duty for a week depending on how I feel.

Any word on Dickens and Diego? Nope. She usually emails me on her break between appointments around lunch time. They don't seem to be sneezing as much. Just some congestion. Probably just one of those things that has to run it's course.

No Halloweeners here since I am on a busy dark road. When my kids were little, we did have Halloweeners. I guess that was because there were a lot of kids in the neighborhood? Most of my neighbors are now grandparents.

No to the brown reindeer flamingos. Just looking at them makes me want to eat chocolate, lol.
We haven't had any trick or treaters here since locks were installed on entrance doors to the apartments years ago. Not that we really had many before that because the kids tend to want the maximum amount of candy with the least amount of effort and climbing 3 flights of stairs was apparently too much for them.
