OK it would not be a "second interview" but HR calling to get info on who to contact at my current job, etc. No big deal. My friend said there may be 6 applicants. Another friend said they are always looking for women because they need women to do searches of females.

In the mid/late 80's I dated a guy whose former in-laws had a condo in Fort Meyers Beach. It was near a Holiday Inn that had a bar right on the sand. No idea if the condo is even there anymore or not. A lot of the older high rises were torn down for new ones. I am sure they died many years ago. I stayed down there once. Loved walking on the beach in the morning.

Thank you! My husband's surgery wnet well. He severed his bicep tendon and they repaired it as well as removing a bons spur.
Ian was devastating. I can't stop watching the videos. It is so sad.

Dawn, I'm glad DH's surgery went well and hope he has a speedy recovery!
Labby, that's why if we're down in Myrtle Beach or Florida we pay extra for oceanfront/Gulf front room. Love sitting on a balcony enjoying morning coffee and the beach is literally steps away. We could stay at the Yuppie condo free, but it's a 5 minute walk to their pool and 10 minute drive to the beach and the view from the balcony is trees I can see anytime around here. It's worth paying for the view and convenience to the beach plus pools and hot tubs at a resort that are an elevator ride away.

I love the beach. I have always dreamed of having a house on the beach. It's just not in my budget.

Hi guys, hope everyone is doing ok. Dawn glad to hear your hubby's surgery went well And Labby good luck to you!
We've been a bit milder here with lows in the 60s and highs in the upper 80s. Fall in the south lol. It's been nice. DH and I went out Saturday to some garage and estate sales and it was lovely weather. Sunday we took out the Falcon and went to the VV and HEB across the street to get youngest DD a gift card for her bday. I'm sorry, I know people love HEB but I HATE that store. This one is ALWAYS jam packed! Like you literally have to wait behind people to get your turn at the produce. And the prices (on everything I checked) were higher than Kroger by a little to a lot. Like the pumpkins were $7.98. Yes 8 bucks for a pumpkin. Hard pass for me.
Well mom ended up going to the ER again last week. She had chest pains again and they gave her the nitro and I guess it didn't help fast enough so they called an ambulance and after a few minutes she said she was better and didn't need to go, but some (misinformed) employee there told her they were on the way so she HAD to go! The ER doctor told my sister that's not true, anyone can refuse at any time. And now the nursing home is saying when they have a resident go to the ER and nothing is wrong it counts against them with the state so if it keeps happening mom may have to leave! Well the first time it was something it was a heart attack. The second time it was angina and that's how she got the nitroglycerine. And the 3rd time was their fault. She said she was ok and they said you have to go anyway! Supposedly now they have it documented to give the nitro time to work, and she can refuse if they call and she's feeling better. Isn't that crazy?
She and the boyfriend seem to be going along well so at least that is good. And she was feeling fine when we went to go see her on Monday.
I got my Halloween out on Saturday and I'm already stocking up on candy for the trick or treaters. I love October Both DD's have birthdays next week. Older DD will be 36 on Tue and youngest DD will be 28 on Thurs It will really freak me out when my son turns 40 in 2024 lol.

My back has been out of whack since the job interview. Little reminders that it is spazzing. Had one major spasm before work yesterday. Hit me so hard I screamed. Hubby came running. Second big one was overnight. I had made an appt at CVS because I was out of flexeril -(last prescription lasted me 12 or more years🤣). So I just got back from that. Got 21 pills which should last me until I die.
Anyway I may have just sold my old Dell desktop. Have a meet scheduled for tomorrow.
Dentist at 1:15 today.
Beautiful out. The sun has finally come out!

Jesm-Sorry that you mom was sick and that she had to take an unnecessary trip to the hospital. Labby-Back spasms are the worst! I hope you feel better.
Sunny and in the 70s here. I am so grateful for the sun after five days of rain. I am stuck inside caring for my mom, but at least some sun in coming in the windows.

This old lady is buying herself a bicycle next month as her 65th birthday gift. I live by a really nice network of bike trails, and the trail section closest to me is fairly level - perfect for someone who is really out of shape and wants to get back in shape. I miss biking - just pedaling and coasting along enjoying the sun, the breeze, and the sounds around me. Ahhhhh. Why did I ever stop??

Probably the same reason I did. You learned how to drive.

Probably the same reason I did. You learned how to drive. Nope, that's not it. I biked for years after I learned how to drive. I've probably used biking, walking and public transit for at least half of my working life. I'd love to live somewhere again that I could ditch my car and get everywhere on bus/bike/walk. I can easily live without my car and the $500 or so it costs me every month (car note, insurance, gas, maintenance etc). There's one part of town here that I could easily do that in, but it's also really expensive and would eat up the money I was saving. I think it's probably because when my last bike died, I was too busy at work and just never bought a new one. I have time now though to bike.

The company asked the insurance investigators for volunteers to go down to Florida. Hubby declined. He was slow this week probably because they called the adjusters down to Florida. He is busy next week though.

The real reason packages go missing from our porches: twitter.com/i/status/1578019431644819458Val - when you buy a bike, make sure that frame (besides being comfortable) has enough clearance to put on somewhat wider tires if you ever want to ride on dirt roads, too - there are many places that have really nice dirt trails that make for serene rides on vacation and the like. Narrower tires make it easier to ride on asphalt, though - you probably already know this, but don't let anyone talk you into thinking that knobby tires are somehow "safer", they are not - get a good regular road tire that rolls well - makes the ride so much more enjoyable (tires make a big difference in comfort and ease of pedaling).

Chap, that's a great video, and if you scroll down a bit, someone reversed the video so it looks like the bear is doing the delivery.

It appears baggy seat mom jeans are making a comeback. Ugh. Good thing I'm stocked up on jeans that don't bag in the butt. Sunny and 85 on tap for here today. My favorite wine company is offering flat rate shipping for a limited time. I may have to stock up. St Clair Winery in NM makes the absolute best red wine blend - Mimbres Red - it's like adult KoolAid. I've never ordered online because the shipping was insane (TBH, full wine bottles are heavy so I understand why shipping is so high). Decisions, decisions.

Years ago someone served us St. Claire Pomegranate wine. It was so good (and I'm not into wine) that I looked the company up. At the time they didn't ship to Arizona. We drove through Albuquerque a few years ago and picked some up. And I didn't think of it at the time but DH could have picked more up when he drove through a few months ago Reasonable prices from what I remember.

There are several locations in Arizona that have it in stock.

My pants bag everywhere - I wear that semi hip-hop stuff like UFO cargos that hang off my hips (I don't wear jeans at all - they're way too uncomfortable).

I don’t have to worry about baggy jeans unless I go back on my diet.
Looking for a vertical patio door blind. Ours is shot. Found my old receipt from Penney’s but they don’t carry that blind(Graber). Looks like I would have to deal with a local dealer $$$$.

All customer is of course pricey but the quality is good. They also have a free re-make guarantee if you mis-measure.

New blinds make a huge difference. We don't use curtains at all here so the new blinds needed to match decor, etc. We got wooden ones for the ground floor and light blocking ones for the upstairs bedroom.
We're going across the mountains this weekend to Wenatchee - it supposed to be in the 80s there! DH is bringing his bike for a mountain ride, but I'm opting for a walk along their beautiful river trail, coffee at the local market rght there (they have a nice patio overlooking the river) and reading my book. Also bringing my yoga CD. I'm having trouble with wooziness when I'm out and about outdoors since the Covid, so not riding outdoors until it subsides - I even noticed it on a walk today, mostly when I was turning around I kind of veered. I'm usually very surefooted, too. Oh yeah, and the onions are back - gahhhh! But a walk along a river makes all better.

You are probably woozy from the calorie drop. Take a snack with you on your walk.
We have vinyl blinds. The dogs like to lean against the patio door and it damages the clips and the slats fall. We got a tool so we could flip the slats after the holes break. Just tired of dealing with it. It does not owe us anything - from 2006.
