Shipping could be dicey for the holiday season this year, especially if you ship by FedEx or buy from a retailer who uses FedEx: www.cnn.com/2022/08/25/business/fedex-ground-shutdown-black-fridayPeople hoping to get their holiday shopping delivered on time could be caught in the middle of a growing battle between FedEx and thousands of contractors who deliver most FedEx packages.
Many of the contractors used by the company’s FedEx Ground division say they are losing money, even as revenue at that unit soared more than 60% since before the pandemic. As a result, a group of the contractors are threatening to shutter their operations right before Black Friday.
FedEx (FDX) Express depends on FedEx (FDX) employees to move its shipments, but FedEx (FDX) Ground depends on a network of more than 6,000 independent businesses to make deliveries. Many of them have dozens, or even more than 100 drivers. Most consumers probably don’t realize the FedEx (FDX) Ground drivers stopping at their doors, wearing FedEx (FDX) uniforms, are actually working for the contractors, not FedEx (FDX) itself.I suspect the drivers may already be trying to hinder delivies. I've had 3 packages go lost this month. Two I was refunded for, the third is still in travel (IN to Dallas, then to CA, now back in NM. I'm in TX. Whatever.) None of them were affected by Hurricane Ian. But wait, there's more! There is also a possibility of a UPS strike, but that's not expected until spring of 2023 if it gets that far.

Having a terrible time with Nutrisystem coolers. Smashed and thawed. NS went with a biodegradable cooler that is really bad. My last delivery - the cooler was separated and partly thawed. NS replaced it. It is from poor handling.
