Huskies are runners and fence jumpers. It is hard to keep them in a yard. They need a lot of exercise.
Made it 2/3 of the way home. Checked into the hotel and ate a late lunch/early dinner at a local diner.
Going to take a nap. Will head home in the morning or middle of the night. It was a bit better driving today. Left at 7:45 AM. Less trucks and traffic until about 11 or so.
Weather has been great.

Yeah I've never wanted a husky. I think they are beautiful dogs, just a bit high strung for me. I personally prefer littler dogs like cocker spaniel size. Tiny dogs are cute too but I want one sturdy enough if I trip over it, I'm the only one getting hurt lol
Hope you get your new fur baby soon. Maybe Charlie softened Dh up a bit and he'll come around quicker now.

If my BP is too high when the dr office takes it, I ask them to give me a minute and take it again. I got pretty good at lowering my BP and pulse fairly quickly when I had the months of uncontrolled afib. How did you get your pulse down? I was driving home from my sister's yesterday, and 15 minutes into the drive, I felt my heart "hesitate" (I don't know how to describe it exactly) so I had my watch take my heart rate. It was over 100 and stayed there for the next hour and a half. It made me nervous just thinking about driving with it that high.

Sit still, close my eyes, breathe deep and slowly and visualize a blood pressure monitor going down, down, down. I also have to sit still, close my eyes and breathe deeply if my pulse goes to low and I feel the heart skips/breathlessness. Of course then I don't visualize the monitor going down, I visualize my heart beating steady and strong. Works for me. When I had the initial afib (for 3 months, ugh) if my pulse or BP got too high and I was working at my desk, I'd go to the ICanHasCheezebuger site and laugh at the cat pictures. That worked too.

I am probably my own worst enemy since I don't like to cook and just want to eat something quick. I haven't counted my sodium intake, but it's probably pretty high since I do eat turkey sticks and hard salami when I'm trying to get my protein in. I am going to have to start making it a priority, but I am in the middle of getting my sister moved (her house sold and her move date is July 22) so it will have to wait until after that.

My BP has always been irregular. It can be low for 6 months then suddenly off the charts for another 6 months. After years of trial and error we figured out 10mg of my BP meds keeps it in check the best without it dropping too low most of the time, use to be 5mg but i got fat and that pushed it up some 😆 My BP drops when I get too hot or during heavy exercise. Usually I can mow the front yard and be alright but not the front and back, things like that. But I also have a spinal lesion so that causes weird issues too, especially in hot and cold.

My heart rate is irregular, but it's just a benign thing, it quickens and slows with my breathing. If I have my pulse taken manually the person doing it always has to average it out. I'm going to look into air fryers - I don't cook meat of any kind, but I do prepare fish from time to time and always vegetables, love kebab and the like. I'm getting tired of microwaving, and since I've decided to eat as few processed foods as I can, I'd rather do air frying than sauteeing on the stove. The DH was out for his weekly century ride and came staggering in late this afternoon looking completely knackered - he said he had forgotten how hilly that route was and it turned out to be 110 miles before he stumbled back to the house, but he did it in 7 hours. He's going to be 70 his next birthday (in a couple of weeks). I'm married to a superman lol. I used to be able to do things like that, but not since a nasty accident off road 15 years ago. Now I ride 30-40 miles and call it enough (which is fine, actually, I like short, hard efforts), but I weight lift and row, too.
allikat - your old friend from the past and you may be able to really lean on each other a little bit and support each other as well as have an enjoyable friendship. People come back into our lives for a reason. He sounds like a good guy!
Love the husky photos! I really like huskies but man, they can be noisy, too, when they start 'singing'.
I actually managed to walk 1 1/4 miles on my bum foot today - I haven't been able to walk more than 1/4 mile since early April when I screwed up my foot, and for a while even walking across a grocery store was too painful. I see the podiatrist again tomorrow - I'm still wearing a foot/ankle brace. I badly miss running, but baby steps.
