Beautiful Alli! Lots of work there and can't wait to see when the flowers bloom! I have a power washer that my daughter got when she used to be a picker. I used it 2 years ago on my driveway wall. And it needs to be done again, as well as my sidewalks and front porch. But that is the summer that I broke my ribs 3 times. So I am guessing the breakage was caused by my doing too much stuff.
I also feel pretty good when I can do stuff myself. I just ordered a 45 pound dehumidifer and I am not allowed to lift over 30 pounds with both arms. But I managed to slide it into my family room. Once again, beside my lymphedema, a permanently broken left shoulder and fragile ribs....I will do what the heck I can...within reason.
I am working on planting yellow squash and zucchinis along my driveway wall, where the daffodils are/were. The daffodiles are dying off and as the leaves turn yellow and brown, I am pulling them. But the ground is clay and rock, so I don't have much hope. Have 2 zuc plants and although I had deer netting over them, chipmunks got to them and were digging around them. So I have 2 little plastic baskets over them. Ordered 10 plastic berry baskets from eBay for when/if my squash seeds grow.
Then will need deer netting over all of it. What a battle with the deer.
But my flowering shrubs and containers of flowers are looking so pretty. Can't wait til my blue-purple hydrangeas start to bloom.

The most I,portent thing about the power washer is the tip and setting. You can take paint off your car if you use the wrong tip and setting.

Je-sus! My daughter just wrote that my grandson's school is safe, but there is a safety issue at a neighboring school. No idea what is going on. Have my police scanners running.

Whoa. It's Rocky Road Day? Oh my. That's my favorite flavor! I'll have to pick up some Mauna Loa Rocky Road To Hana ice cream today. It's non-dairy, made from macadamia milk and has macadamia pieces instead of walnuts or almonds. Yum! History of Rocky Road: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocky_road_(ice_cream)

Val,I got hubby picking up some plain vanilla ice cream. Normally I would get rocky road or Turkey Hill double dipper something or another. Not really up to eating much but am sipping on Gatorade Zero and eating toast now and then,

If you're nauseated, labbypaws, you might try some sherbet instead of ice cream. I hope you feel better soon!

The hot dog guy sounds like a college frat initiation prank. Or a graduating high school senior prank Yes, I would expect that to be a high school senior prank and no big deal. But to threaten to gas the high school is another story. I live in a good area, but all of the middle and high schools have had threats this past year.
The elementary school apparently let the kids out early since my 5th grade neighbor girl was home at 10:30.
I was always an over-protective mom, and now things are so much worse.

Update on teens....the one with the gas mask posted on social media that he was going to shoot up the place. Multiple charges filed.
Hot dog kid was carrying a large bag...contents not disclosed yet.

They just arrested a 5th grader around here for threating to shoot up the school, I cannot imagine the worry parents have sending their kids to school now.
Rocky Road is my favorite too but it has to have actual marshmallows in it, none of the swirled marshmallow creme crap, lol.
Labby, DH took several layers of skin off the top of his foot with the pressure washer, I have seen the power of the tip/machine and learned the lesson to not pressure wash in sandals.

I would do almost ANYTHING for real ice cream. I'm diabetic and ice cream is one of the things that really spikes my blood sugar. Anything white potato too.

Rocky road is also my favorite. I don't trust myself to buy it since I have no will power.

I'm a boring person and like French vanilla only, save for one other flavour, and that's the real black cherry ice cream that is made locally here in season - it's vanilla, but with big juicy cherries in it. When I was a kid we'd go into Ho-Jo's with their 30 flavours and my family would get all of these weird combos and I'd ask for a scoop of vanilla.
The handyman fixing the neighbour's fence did a fabulous job of fixing our mailboxes, including repurposing the wood and clearing off all the rest of the debris. It's basic, functional and incredibly sturdy. He did it in one morning, too, so it was up when the mail truck delivered the mail. When we got back into town our held mail was delivered with a note on it from the letter carrier saying "Welcome back!" That was cool!
It's really warm and muggy here suddenly - it hadn't budged much above 55 and in the 40s at night until the last few days when it hit 70 with rain. When the rain passes through and we have sunbursts everything is steaming. Temp is due to drop into the 50s again, though, with steady rain so it won't be so strange. The DH is going off to Eastern Washington to find some dry weather to ride in. I'll have to do all my deliveries and errands this weekend on the bike since we're a one-car family. Taking the bus is out of the question as I still can't walk more than about a block.
Look for a spate of copy-cat school shooting threats (hopefully NOT to be fulfilled), for some reason these tragedies bring out the worst in humanity, and gun sales are accelerating. Even SPEAKING about dealing with gun violence is apparently 'an impeachable offense' (second amendment apparently trumps first amendment) We have some choices coming up - I hope we make the right ones.

Rarely buy ice cream but I'm good with natural vanilla. I was eyeballing the ice cream section at WM recently and noticed a Great Value Blueberry Cheesecake flavor. Grabbed it and ended up putting it back but I'm sure it'll soon end up in my cart. We're having a window company come tomorrow for an estimate which means I somehow need to find time to clear out all the ebay clutter and clean my bathroom (including tub) because of the small horizontal window above the it before they get here at 3. Grrrr
It's going to be 102 today but looks like it'll be gradually heating up next week. 111 is in the forecast. Not anti gun but fingers crossed for some changes regarding firearms. This can't continue.

Replacing windows in our house necessitated wholesale moving - at one point we hauled our queen-sized futon and frame downstairs and set it up in the library lol. The window people were incredibly impressed - they said they often have to step over people's belongings and can barely wedge themselves in to do their work even though they ask for 3 feet of work space. It's a good time to do some deep cleaning, though. Trudging along a sort of run-down part of town on my way to thrift and was finally able to get a photo of this building which I just love! (At a stop light).

I'm not sure where to put this, but I have a 'we miss you' $15 off code for an order for $49 or more from Chewy. Obviously, we can't use it. I'm not sure if it'll work but I'll offer it here if someone can use it - not sure if it's tied to my account/address or not.

Well, I was able to mow last week without my Go Safe alarm going off. But not today. I had texted my daughter to tell her that I was going to mow. Did check my alarm a few times...no red light. Then here she comes driving up since it did go off again and they called her when I didn't answer my phones. I give up. It must be the vibration of the mower or something.
This is a new alarm when we had to go to 5G. My previous one wasn't nearly as sensitive. Won't be wearing it to mow anymore. Heck, it went off a few days ago when I was walking into a room.

I've been looking at apartments online and have discovered that Craigslist isn't the only scam online. It appears Apartment Guide and Rent.com don't verify the advertiser listings. I just left reviews for 3 "apartments" that are either strip centers full of businesses or empty lots. I think they're ads from property locators who use the generic "Apartments at (insert part of town)". It wouldn't matter if they'd just identify themselves as a locator service and not show pictures of assort properties but make it look like one place. I guess they're counting on the many out-of-state people who move here and lease remotely not knowing the area and not caring. *SMH* Fortunately I'm not the only one leaving the same review. The first one that tipped me off looked brand new, had reasonable rent, and was in a part of town that I liked. But then when I looked at the address and pictures, I realized I'd never seen this property in the area it was supposed to be in and there isn't any new construction in this area that I know of (it's an area I'm very familiar with) and that the complex had a big lake in the middle (no lakes in that part of town). Google confirmed my suspicions. Guess I'll go back to Apartments.com and ForRent.com.

Yesterdays adventure. I went to evict a birds nest from the RV slide out awning housing, was pulling out the nesting material and grabbed a snake, I just about wet my pants. Snake dropped to ground so I figured I was clear to finish the eviction and then grabbed another snake. At that point I said F it and walked away from project. Now to figure out how and who to enlist to take the housing off the RV so we can see what is happening inside, DS is terrified of snakes so I am going to have to find a friends husband to give me a hand.
Other than that escapade all is good over here. Weather is beautiful, working on my hill gardens now. The dirt is like cement no wonder the tomatoes and peppers never grew well there.

I would have shouted F*ck it after the first snake and immediately been online looking for pest removal guys.
I don't care how good snakes are supposed to be for any garden. They are not welcome here and if they value life, they had better get to truckin' before I even get a glimpse of them.
I have a super giant lizard kinda guy in my backyard for the second year now. I flipped him into a box last year and walked down the alley about 4 houses and turned him loose. Within a week he was back so I guess he likes it here. I think he might have been a pet of some kind because he is not that scared of me.

Lizzards are OK. They eat the bugs. We had them when we lived overseas, inside and outside the house. Not much you could do about them, but they did keep the bugs out of the house

Pretty sure this guy is a horned toad or a very close cousin. I don't mind him except when he comes out of nowhere and startles me. Must have been too hot for him to be out and about today because I was spreading mulch in my flower beds and didn't see him.
