Wow they are neat! I saw a show where people were buying houses that size. I would love one.

I could never get approval from the HOA, nor do I have room. My husband would be thrilled if my crap had its own space though.

My apt complex would probably frown on one off my patio but some of them look pretty nice!

I just recently discovered the Tiny Houses show. I am at awe seeing how people live in such a small space, especially as I watch from my 2500 sq ft home.
I am even planning out my final landing spot after the zombies come and the self sufficient cabins I am looking at will be 1000-1200 sq ft. I just like to have some room to spread.

I have a yard and would have room for one but don't know if zoning issues would kick in.
Or I could just put siding on the cat pen, cut out a few windows, and dress it up from there.

DH and I recently looked into buying a portable building to put out back as an office. We have several local builders/dealers and the pricing isn't bad. Haven't decided on a size yet though. We bought 2 acres out back so plenty of room for it. I don't want rooms in mine I want a large open building so I can line the walls with hanging racks.

I like it but I since I'm not handy I'd have to hire out too much of the work.

They are big enough for me to live in. Just alone the time I would be saving on cleaning would be great.

We already have spot on our property ready for one. The original owners of our property lived in a trailer home before they built the house, we have a slab sized for a trailer home just waiting for a building. It is right next to the septic tank, too, so I think we could even plumb it for a bathroom. I'd love to have a work/guest shed. Now, to just find the money...

DS text this to me this weekend! Even my kids know I need my own personal workspace. Even if it is just part time.

I've been fascinated with those tiny homes for a long time but I don't think I could live in one - I like my stuff too much. It would be a fun experiment to put all of it in storage for a year and do it though. A tiny office like that would work for a someone who sits at a desk and works on a computer all day, but eBay is too space intensive, all the moving crap around, taking photos, ironing, measuring etc. I'd need to live in the shed and have eBay in my main space.

Me too. I try as hard as I can to contain the ebay stuff in my second bedroom (and bath), but it keeps escaping.

On Easter Sunday, my cousin brought a friend to dinner who lives in a shipping container. It is rather rustic-- compost toilet, no running water, and I think just simple electric running from the main house on the property. No windows, either.
Some of the shipping container houses are quite fantastic, I googled it after we got home from dinner. IDK if I could do it?

I prefer running water, a flushing toilet, and more than simple electricity whatever that entails.

One of those 'sheds' would be pretty nice.
I could go out and sit all by myself in a recliner with no cat hair. Watch the TV shows I want to watch without interruption of petting, cooking and feeding. Oh to have no cat toys underfoot, no cat hair in the air, and no litter boxes.
Yep, sounds good to me. The cats already have the house, let me just have the shed occasionally when I need a break.

I would love one of those but we've already started converting part of the attic into an office for ebay.

Shirley - My two small dogs are also very needy. I get aggravated at them sometimes. Bubba licks my arm while I'm in the tub. They are everywhere with me. Mike works tons of hours so it just me and the kids!

Isn't it? It's like having a little chapel in your backyard: I love this one also:
