Is there a way to see sold prices on Etsy?

Lets try reposting this in the right spot this time LOL

Trying to decide if it's worth setting up some upcycled or handmade made things over there. I can see some sellers are selling by checking their fb but can't see prices. Is there a work around?

Yes. View the source code (on Firefox, go to Tools > Web Devloper > Page Source) and find this line:

<meta property="etsymarketplace:price" content="$XXXX USD">

XXXX = the price it sold for

Thought I'd update, it worked. I use IE so I just used right click and chose view source and scrolled down. So much easier now that I know what people are paying. Prices are definitely higher over there for the upcycled and handmade stuff. Not sure if there are enough buyers over there but it's worth a shot.

Now to decide if I want to chance double listing at both places or just do different listings on each one.

I'm always happy to share what little "wisdom" I have with this group - it makes up for all the dumb jokes and cat pix I post the rest of the time!

Another favorite Etsy tip: You can't look up completeds like you can on Ebay, but you can often find sold listings on Google with this search string:

     pink flamingo "this item sold on" site:etsy.com

(Assuming you're looking for pink flamingoes, that is.) I don't know if this finds everything, but it does bring up some stuff. Plus, Etsy doesn't automatically delete old listings, so you can sometimes find stuff that sold several years ago.

Ok I have been here less than two days and am already learning a ton. Thanks! I had been doing it the hard far less accurate way. looking at the same or similar items and kind of taking an average of what folks were listing them for. Of course because something is listed for 20.00 doesn't mean that it is actually selling for that.

And there's more, just like a Ronco Informercial. Hit 100 posts and you get access the private area. Monthly blocked buyer lists, tips on dealing with eBay Customer Service, business tips, etc.
