Yesterday I had 821 active listings. I sold 1 item overnight, so I should have 820 left, right? Uh uh! I have 805 showing as active. 15 listings have gone AWOL. They are not in my unsolds or ended listings. Just POOF! Gone. I just flipping did an inventory and now I have to do it again! Some people in my FB group are missing up to 50! If they don't show back up I'm going to have to re-do all of them. NOT NOT NOT happy!!!

I wouldn't do an inventory, unless it persists over time. We know Ebay has glitches all the time.

I just started to check mine that are ending soon. Just lost 3 and I have no idea how many of mine are gone. I have over 200 listings ending today. Like I really want to spend the rest of the day ending them myself to save them.
Thanks eBay.

Oh, duh. It's Feb 28. The calculations that Ebay does when automatic relisting, get really wonky on Feb 28th. Remember, the changed them from every month to every 31 days b/c of seller uproar that they weren't doing it right. They still aren't doing it right when it comes to February.
Sit tight. Don't waste your time re-inventorying items. I've noticed for a week that my relists are not coming up with right number of days.

Mine just keep going down, but I had 80-some ending today. Just got in and checked FB and read this:
"Here's the info I have from eBay Concierge so until we hear otherwise, we'll assume this is the issue. All listings are Good Til Canceled which means every 31 days they end and then automatically relist. For some reason this year because February is a shorter month, it has somehow affected how this is happening. The eBay guy I talked to basically it's like they're cramming 2-3 days worth of relisting into one day, they're working on it and it SHOULD all resolve in the next 24 hours. So bottom line, don't panic, don't try to figure it out or find a way to fix it. Just keep on keepin' on and let the IT team do what they need to do. Take note of what your listing number should be and how many you're short and if doesn't resolve in the next day, we'll take it from there. Thanks!!"
Didn't dawn on me that it was the end of February. Didn't this happen last year too? I'm going to wait and see if they come back, but I'm also not listing anything new, since the ones I listed this morning aren't showing up either and I don't want to do them again and have duplicates show up.

I read that we shouldn't list anything today or tomorrow.
So watch us relist the ones that we ended to save them, then eBay relisting them and we get dup warnings.
And yeah, as if they are going to magically find our missing listings.... uh huh.

Yes, it happened last year too, though I'm not sure if there's missing listings. You can actually see weirdness all along if you pay attention, which has to do with their relisting date algorithms. They aren't doing it right. They weren't doing it right to begin with & so they changed it, but it's still not right & never was. I said it when they announced the change. They have sh%t programmers that don't know how to deal with basic stuff.
Think about it - every financial institution in the US has had to deal with this for decades, it's not rocket science.

I've been listing & my listings are there, they're not in the right order, but they're there. They haven't been in the right order for over a week b/c of their calc issues. End or save what? What are you talking about?

Are you sure they're not showing up? Or are they just not showing up IN THE RIGHT ORDER so they look like they're missing? I've been listing all week, they're all there, but they look to be ending about 5 days before the date they s/b, so they're in the wrong order. In order to find out, search for them by name or brand or something you'll recognize in your Manage Active Listings. Don't just look at them in reverse order & expect them to be there.

Ughh, ok, I get what you're saying now Denise.
I just tested a few things. My new listings are going through fine, just don't show in order as I explained above. That's exactly what I would expect, since the problem seems to be with listings renewing today.
I tried to figure out if I have missing listings & it's hard b/c I don't pay attn to my current numbers, but my listings software seems to think I have 37 more items listed than Ebay thinks I do & the most it is ever off is 1, so I DO think I'm 'missing' 37 listings.
Then I watched a listing that was ending in 6 minutes & after it auto relisted, I checked by searching (not just by date order) & it was NOT in my listings anymore, so it DOES seem to be listings that are ending & maybe that have ended, since when??? I suspect they are just backed up like the announcement above said, but personally, I am manually ending the ones about to end, even tho' Ebay said not to.
That's even though I do have them backed up, b/c I do not have anyway to know which they are. At least not easily.
IDK why they can't get something so simple right!
I love this part of the statement:
<< Take note of what your listing number should be and how many you're short and if doesn't resolve in the next day, we'll take it from there. >>
Ummm, how exactly are we s'posed to do that? Who keeps separate track of how many are listed, to know how many are missing?

I sort mine by the custom number (my inventory number). I haven't gone thru to see what's missing, I'm just going by the total number of active listings I SHOULD have, which right now should be 819. But the total active listings is showing 757 at the moment.

Yeah, mine are gone. When I first checked mine, the top 3 were going off in seconds, and they are now gone. Since I remembered what they were, I did a search.
So I have saved 60 so far by ending them.
My numbers of active are going up and down. It was 1623, I ended one and the number went down to 1610. Then it went back up to 1618.

Just looked at Ebay's Tech Problems board & there's another problem too, SOLD items are going into UNSOLD's. So buyers can't pay, sellers can't ship, etc.
Some people are saying the relists are happening, they're just taking a long time & I suspect that is true, b/c the items are not anywhere, so they're in the waiting for relist bucket (not actually ended), & if I look at my own situation, if they weren't coming back into ACTIVE, I would have had a hell of a lot more than 37, so I've decided not to end anymore & just wait it out. I hope they fix this all correctly, but I don't think the relist part requires anything more than just waiting (& hoping they code it correctly for the future). In other words, I suspect they always go into a 'waiting to relist' bucket & that that bucket is just backed up.
I have probably another 50 or so ending today, but I'm just going to leave them alone & let them do their thing. I'm pretty confident they'll show back up, since I think this is the normal chain of events, it's just normally so quick that we don't see the temporary bucket.

My roll-over listings are starting to repopulate as new listings, so I think the problem is fixing itself.

I still have the classic my eBay page as well as the seller hub page. On the classic, when items end they get suspended for a awhile, even more than a day, before they resist automatically. So I see my real total number of things, but some are suspended as they haven't yet resisted. That's the February short month thing. They are very delayed in resisting and going in batches, it appears. I listed three things today successfully. Yes, they popped up in an unexpected place in line but they are there. Two are even being watched. Have patience. I think it will all work itself out.

Yup, they are re-populating. I checked the one I watched when I posted in Reply 11, 3 hours ago & it has now repopulated.
Denise I wasn't pretty confident b/c I believe in Ebay, I was confident b/c I could tell what was happening & I had already read on the boards that others were seeing the listings reappear. I am breathing a sigh of relief to see it myself though :-) I didn't want to pay to relist the next 50 or so that were ending today & I didn't see much point b/c I already couldn't identify which were 'missing'.
I'm glad it all worked out, but this kinda sh%t should never have happened. This is tricky coding (as in it's important to do it right) but basic, as in most companies have been doing it for decades or half a century.

There was not a problem with new listings, thank goodness, b/c I listed a bunch this week. They've been listing all week, just not showing up in the right order, but they're there. It shouldn't be this hard to code for end of month. Oh wait...it's not.

Mine are all back, though some didn't come back until about a 1/2 hour ago THIS AM (March 1). The My Ebay count NOW matches my listing software count & the count on the Classic view of My Ebay (which was the same as my listing software's count) BUT that didn't happen until a little while ago. When I was checking about 1/2 hour ago, I was still 54 off, from the correct figure. Now, all 3 match!
So, if you're still missing some, check again, as mine updated sometime in the last 1/2 hour to the correct number. Thank gawd, as it would have been a huge pain to try & figure out which ones were missing!
