The size is 46-48, it's one of those cotton house dresses, brand Village Fair. Tried to find the brand online & it doesn't appear to be in biz anymore. I seem to recall the name & I think it's an old catalog house. Here's the label, anyone know what modern size this would be? TIA.

I think that's bust inches size.

In the old days my mom wore a 44 sleeveless blouse. Believe that is a women’s bust size. Could be a “plus type size”.

Thank you Jeremy! It does a seem like it could have been from some of those stores, it seems very Blair or Woman Within. Though I seem to remember a catalog by this name. Unless I'm confusing it with Bedford Fair.

Thanks guys, that's what I though, likely a bust size & yes, it does seem to be plus.

Size it based on measurements, keeping in mind "house dresses" were meant to be worn looser than regular clothes.
