I haven't sent checks for bills for years, save for the water bill which is still not online, which frustrates me. I guess I'm so used to it that I don't worry about it.
My debt came from the dot-com crash when the entire region fell through the bottom and both my business and the company I worked for went belly up. I was so far upside down I couldn't see daylight for a while and worked two jobs and sold online. It's amazing what one can do with single-minded perseverance, though.

Out of 6 "lost" packages from November 23 - December 4, 2 were delivered yesterday, 1 was delivered today...3 still in limbo.

The last quarterly tax payment it sitting here ready do go. Was going to mail it today but decided to wait. Hopefully things will get back to normal in the few weeks. Why not just sign up at www.eftps.gov/eftps/ and make those payments electronically? Easy peasy. Enroll as an individual using your social security number and your bank account. The IRS does not keep the bank info on file (there is a third party gobetween) but one can always open a separate account that is used for tax payments and even just online bill paying.

2 cases opened today for missing items. The comments in both cases were nice, they understand there are issues with USPS. I don't blame them for opening them. One item has been in Indy since 11/26. I filed the insurance claim on that one and USPS sent me a check made out to snoopynmore. I had to send it back so they can reissue with my name on it. The other claim is 1st class package so I'll just be out that money. I have until 12/31 to work things out with the buyers so I told both of them if their item doesn't move by then I'll be refunding. I've had some other packages start to move in the last few days. I'm hoping USPS can start getting to some of the backlog of packages. I've got several more missing first class packages. Its going to hurt when I have to start refunding all of them. I know the eventually will get where they're supposed to go but I can't expect buyers to wait months for their items.

What annoys me is FedEx. Right now, UPS is helping delivery the Surepost packages whenever possible. UPS has always done this - if there are UPS deliveries to you on any given day, UPS will often also deliver the Surepost packages. Currently, UPS is delivering a higher than normal % to help the USPS out. This was confirmed by 2 delivery drivers and the manager at the UPS Store where my mailbox is. But FedEx and the Smartpost product? Hell no. Fed Ex is dropping off all Smartpost packages as usual, forget giving the USPS any assistance (this was confirmed by a Fed Ex employee and the manager at an independent mailbox store). The UPS Store manager, however, also said the same thing about Fed Ex (they get Fed Ex deliveries too).

You would think USPS would be trucking those packages big time today. Get the regular carriers in and get the packages out. It is a disgrace. They should be stepping it up more at this point. They need to get all the backlog delivered by this Thursday. At the point where there should be no excuse. I was at the PO last Wednesday or Thursday to ship my glasses to California and I was the only one there.

Sold a cute Christmas socking on 12/5, still hasn't been delivered but did arrive to the unit in it's area in NC yesterday. Another one sold on 12/12 and was last processed through a facility in City of Industry CA on 12/13. It's going to VA though. Grrrrr. I'm really surprised that no one has opened INR cases and few to no messages about the delays even.

On Dec 4th I bought a pair of Levi's on Posh. The seller printed the label same day but dragged her feet getting my package to the PO (it was scanned as accepted on 12/14 in Rhode Island. The jeans slowly meandered to Connecticut & New Jersey and rested awhile. They're now in Honolulu- sure wish I was there too! Supposedly they arrived somewhere late last night but tracking doesn't say where. They've traveled way more this month than I have in a year! Hope they fit when they arrive :-)
Yesterday DH discovered a stray package (soaking wet) in front of his stand-alone garage I guess the addy was wonky and the Amazon driver gave up and decided to deliver it somewhere. DH deciphered the address- it was going to a big assisted living complex up the road so he & his dog delivered it the final mile.
What a year!!

T Please don't assume that the seller dragged her feet. I mailed a package on the 14th that was scanned as accepted at my local post office on the 24th. It sat there, ignored, for ten days.

And I second the don't blame the seller for "dragging her feet". I mailed something on the 11th. I had only one package and didn't want to wait in line so I put it with other packages at an unused window. It didn't get a scan until the 22nd and was delivered on the 24th. And labbypaws - most sorting facilities are operating with 85% employees - on average 15% are out due to quarantine/covid. I suggest that everyone take a peak at Reddit and the USPS subreddit. The pictures of sorting facilities will make your head spin. Our small town post office received 7000 packages on Christmas Eve morning ( normal amount is around 200-400 ) from our regional sorting facility. They had to get them sorted and delivered that day. I hate that they deliver for Amazon and the others but after seeing the pictures, I am willing to cut them some slack.

I am hearing here and elsewhere that USPS didn’t do acceptance scans. I too am waiting for something that shows the label was printed but the item was not accepted yet. I will be patient.

Pam I saw that but they should be catching up now. This week should be a week to push stuff out. Covid19 or not. People paid their bills using snail mail, are waiting for bills, etc. Late fees are piling up for those who don’t use online payment. I do. It is just time for USPS to get with the program. No excuse for piling newer mail on top of old stuff and letting older mail sit.
Two bills missing, 8 packages in limbo for quite some time now.

I agree that older mail should be moving before newer mail, but if there are huge piles it might not be possible. I just hope that these late packages don't cause problems with eBay. A package scanned ten days after I mailed it is way outside their acceptable window.

No worries, I'm a most forgiving buyer and realize that it could be a PO error OR the seller could have been ill and forgot that they had an order. . :-) It's been a difficult year every which way so I'm not getting worked up over a pair of pants.

Suddenly today, the first time since before the election, my Informed Delivery looks normal. For months, it has been blank or 1 item scanned, which pretty much invalidated it's purpose. I wonder if mail is they turned off all scanning to make things move faster. Glad to see it's back to normal. pammyvan thanks for the info on the USPS subreddit. Heading over to take a look.

I really wish the $150 item would get moving. It sat at my local PO for 11 days. It got scanned in Indy on 12/23. I thought it was finally on its way. It hasn't gone anywhere since. It just needs to get to MO. I should probably go ahead and file the insurance claim on it.

One of my items, (a priority one) was finally delivered today. The book that I mailed weeks ago to a lady 100 miles from me is now in CT.
Meanwhile, 4 checks that I mailed in to pay my bills are lost.

Got this message a little bit ago. I discouraged her from purchasing since she's a rush to get it as she's in MA.
Can you please tell me what shipping method you would use to ship this item if I purchased it? USPS is extremely delayed so I want to be sure this would arrive e in a timely manner if I purchase it.

I just had a surprise as a buyer. On 11/21 I ordered 5 of those Yeti mugs online from Dicks Sporting Goods. Three of them arrived within days from Dallas delivered by Lone Star Delivery. The other 2 showed shipped Overnight from Dallas with Lone Star Delivery as the shipper but they never showed up. They were to be sent by me to Dallas as a Christmas gift so around the 10th of December I called Dick's and they sent me two more overnight again by Lone Star Delivery. They deliver in a white pickup with no signage on the truck.
So this morning I look on my porch and there is a box sitting there. You guessed it...the first two Yetis arrived over a month later and with a label dated 11/22 with overnight delivery from Dallas. Lone Star Delivery needs to up their game.

Denise, you can send each check through your bank whenever you want for whatever amount. You don't have to set up automatic payments. I have a few automatic because it's the same amount every month. For other bills I use 1 time payments where I choose the date it is sent and the amount. I save a little because I don't have to pay for postage. It may be different if you don't carry much in your account.
