I looked all over this morning and couldn't find it. How do I change the payment method for eBay shipping labels?

I'm not in managed payments and I can't find a way to change it. If you're in managed payments, it's on the label page itself. If you're not, when you find out, let me know

When you go to print the label, there's an option toward the bottom of the page on the left hand side to choose how to pay.

I'm in managed payments, and the choices were Pending Payouts (of which I didn't have enough) and PayPal, which is what I used before I was forced into managed payments. I couldn't find an option to use the new bank account into which my managed payments are deposited or to use the debit card associated with that bank account.

Select how to pay Choose payment method
Your pending payouts are not enough for this transaction.

There's no option to add another payment method. My PayPal account will be at zero soon.
I searched all through the Help articles this morning.

There are only those two options - pending payments or Paypal. If you use Paypal you can choose whichever payment method you have connected with Paypal (I have bank account and credit card as well as existing balance).

I just changed pending payouts to weekly rather than daily. However, if a buyer pays right before the payout transfer, I'm forced to use PayPal? That doesn't make sense to me, but I guess I'll have to add the bank account debit card as an option in PayPal, if that's possible. I was hoping to keep a small cushion in PayPal in case I need it, but I won't be able to do that. It makes no sense to me that we can't set up whatever payment method we want to use. Why would eBay choose to go through PayPal?

If you have nothing in pending or cleared payments you can use Paypal - the label would be taken out of whatever payment method you use Paypal for as a processor. I've never had that happen with weekly transfers, though. I don't really keep money in Paypal any longer - it just processes credit cards and my bank account.
ETA: I *think* Paypal will be available to still handle transfers until sometime in 2023.

Chap is correct, you only get those 2 options.
On weekly, which is what I have, your funds are going to add up during the week, so it hasn't been a problem. If they pay right before the transfer, I guess theoretically you may not have funds, but I've been on since July & it hasn't happened. I tend to print labels right away though, so if I saw a sale come in on Tuesday, I'd just print the label right away.
You're not forced to use PP, nor is it coming from PP if you don't have funds. It comes from the acct associated w/your MP. So I'm leaving a bit of a cushion in that acct.
PP is only used if YOU choose to use it. There's a little blurb somewhere that comes up explaining where the $$ come from if you don't have them in your acct & it is not PP.
ETA: There is also a place in the setup to set up a Backup Source for Labels. I haven't done it yet, b/c I'm 99% sure I read that the default is the acct you've set up for MP, so I felt it was redundant.
Here's the place to set up your bkup, it's under Expenses>Payout Settings>Backup Payment Method. You can choose PP, a checking acct or a Credit/Debit card.

I was trying to keep a little cushion in PayPal, but that cushion has been getting smaller. I wish PayPal would allow us to choose the payment method rather than drawing from the PayPal balance.

Not following. It does. I almost never use my PP balance for anything. My default is set to my CC, which is how I want it. Once in a great while, I'll switch it for a purchase. That applies only to that purchase & doesn't change my default.

I always have several choices, also. I didn't set anything up, it has just been that way for quite a while.
ETA: Maybe have a 0 balance in there?

You don't need to have a zero balance. Mine's been that way for many years & I've usually had a balance, but I never use it for purchases. I looked in PP & for me, under Account Settings on the top right, then Money, Banks & Cards on the left hand side, I have a section called Your Preferred Way to Pay & it lists my credit card as the default, which I set up many, many years ago. Mine is a Business Acct, if yours isn't, the setting may be in a different place, but should still be somewhere in your profile settings.
Also, when I make purchases on Ebay, I get a screen that lets me change my preferred payment for just that purchase, which I do once in awhile, but it doesn't affect my default preference.

I just have a personal account, but I've also always had the choices and 'preferred choice' (Paypal funds). Emerald_Door - do you have a screen shot we can look at?

You've always had a personal acct & I've usually had a non-zero balance & those are the 2 things we respectively thought could be an issue.

Thanks for your help. It's set up that way, but I haven't used PayPal recently, so I don't know what will happen the next time I do. Maybe I'll just go to a zero balance now, since I'm unlikely to need the cushion for returns any longer.

It's still not working for me, and apparently there's no way to call PayPal now. I used their online chat feature this morning and they said someone would reply, but it would take several hours.
