Given that I have a couple thousand DVDs and CDs, I figured I would try to get approved for the DVDs and CD categories since they are gated (meaning, you need approval to sell in that category). I have an invoice from a legit company, I have a selling history dating back several years, I have 100% in all stats and 100% feedback. Here is the response I got:
"Greetings from Amazon
Thank you for your application to sell certain products in the DVD category. We regret to inform you that your application has been declined. This decision was made, in part, due to our inability to verify information you provided and/or information related to your seller account, such as prior selling history and listings. We are unable to provide specific details regarding your application.
To help us continually improve, we ask that you take a moment to complete our survey below to tell us about your experience with this specific interaction."
The denial reason is no reason at all. Inability to verify information? All the information is on the invoice I sent them. Information related to my seller account? All my info is perfect. My listings? I have none at the moment because I'm applying to actually list items.
How does one fix any issue when they are not willing to give anyone information on what needs to be fixed? Seriously. Now I remember one of the reasons I stopped selling there.

Are you on facebook, Jeremy? There are several really good Amazon seller groups, they'd probably be able to help you more than most of us.

Amazon is expensive and they are even worse to sellers than eBay. I just figured it would be another outlet. I'll just list on Mercari for the time being. I just figured I would post so everyone can see how little they care about their sellers.

I've done pretty well with CDs on Mercari - sold about 50 there, I think.
ETA: Lots do much better than singles, at least with the CDs I've sold.
