Good morning, Virtual Sellers! It's Wednesday, aka "Hump Day" for those who work Monday-Friday. Of course, for online sellers, there's really no such thing as the end of the work week - our stores are open 24/7, and some of us work 'round the clock as well. Today is also the 74th birthday of renowned British fashion designer Dame Vivienne Westwood. She and then-lover and business partner Malcolm McLaren created the 1970s punk revolution: He invented the hype and put together the bands, the Sex Pistols, the anarchy, while she designed the look: the safety pins, the ripped T-shirts, the slogans. Her designs have grown more polished over the years, but never lost their edge. Here's a look at some of her most memorable moments, including Carrie's wedding dress from the Sex and the City movie and Pharrell's oversized hat. (Yes, that's Miss Piggy wearing Westwood in the 2014 movie Muppets Most Wanted!) Today's question: Who is your favorite fashion designer and why?

I don't have a favorite high-end fashion designer for me, personally. If they'd lower themselves to make plus sizes, I'd change my mind.
But I will admit to loving Chanel anything. At least the plus market does at least get the chanel boxy jacket design in some years. And the only perfume I like is Chanel No 5.

On a purely personal note, someone I would like to have for a mentor or even have a cup of tea with, DVF. She reminds me of my first and favorite boss, who was also smart enough to know a woman doesn't have to be a bitch to get ahead in business.
No real favorite designer, although I've always loved fashion. But I've only been under a size 10 for 5 minutes my entire adult life, so a lot of designer duds aren't made for me. A favorite would be a label I actually had represented in my closet.
I'd love to have a Chanel bag. One of the quilted numbers, but not black.

I am not a designer clothing kind of person so never had any favorites.
My favorite designers now are those who make cat threme clothes and purses.
Thats about the biggest fashion statement that I will ever make.

Wait. I lied.
I was thinking the avant garde haute couture designers (yawn) and totally forgot about some older established designers who make real clothes - I love, love, LOVE the Ralph Lauren paisley prints. Sometimes I manage to score a top or two for myself at season-end when they're on clearance.

I was at one time in my early 20s enamored with Laura Ashley and her garden party look. I so wanted that romantic look to be my style, but it just wasn't. It made me look shortER and dumpy and the larger florals totally overwhelmed me. I'm classic. Classic is what looks best on me and what's most comfortable. I avoid getting bored by the simple styles by using color. Brights, jewels, I love 'em all.

You just featured my favourite designer, Vivienne Westwood! I went to the exhibit and retrospective of Westwood's work at the Victoria and Albert in London one year. It was just amazing! The room was stuffed with people of all ages, but I was impressed by the number of young people in there with sketch pads and notebooks, hovering around the designs and quietly chatting. It was beautifully displayed - just amazing, particularly some of her most ornate dresses and gowns. They also had some pieces from one of her biggest fabric design influences, Anna Maria Garthwaite, an influential fabric designer from the 18th century (abt 1720s on) - you could see Garthwaite's influence, especially in the corset exhibit, and seeing the designs side by side was impressive.
I terribly wanted one of the low top hats they had for sale in the shop, but it was ₤90 and I'm always on such a shoestring in London.
Diane Von Furstenburg gets a big kudo from me also for being real, and also designing a foundational style that looks good on just about everybody.

Alas, I have no Westwood or Von Furstenberg (spelled it wrong up there, oops) to list today. Just...stuff.

It's hard to believe she's 74. She looks beautiful. I don't think I have a favorite designer. Maybe Ralph Lauren for stuff I can actually afford. I know his pants will fit fit me without even having to try them on. That's an awful lot in my book.

If I had the right figure (and the right lifestyle, and a big ol' bank account), I'd wear Westwood, Alexander McQueen and Betsey Johnson every day. Corsets, bold tartans, oceans of black lace, and lots of frilly little top hats. I would look like I sprung forth from Helena Bonham Carter's closet. Eh, who am I kidding? I'd wind up looking more like Little Edie Beale than HBC

I used to wear top hats, leather and poofy skirts back in the day. That's a LOT of days ago, like the 80s.

Flora Kung, the 80's silk dress queen. It was mostly FK on Miami Vice. I still have a closet full & I still love them as much as I did in the 80's, b/c I'm still all about color & print. Of course they don't fit me any more & I have nowhere to wear them LOL, but they are works of art IMO & I will fit into them again. And then I'll wear them to the post office b/c I can I've sold a few pieces where the style was too ruffly for me & I wouldn't wear them now, but most of the dresses are sheath dresses, so still a style I'd wear. There's a new one on Ebay now that I want so bad cuz I love the colors, but I do NOT need to be adding to my collection LOL.
