is the customs form automatically a part of the checkout process or label printing process?
Or do you still have to go to the PO & get one? Also, do you just leave these for carrier pick up? Or do you have to go to the PO & wait in line.
I only do Intl via GSP, but a lady just wrote me & she's in Ireland & wants FCI, as the rates are she feels too high via GSP. I may be willing to try it, if I can do everything automated & not have to go to the PO. It's a plus size top but I did a search & it looks like FCI is up to 4lbs, so it s/b ok to go.

eBay shipping labels print out what you need - customs form is part of the shipping label.
You can drop off in any PO parcel bin, on the counter if your PO has a prepaid drop spot, or even place it in the blue bins outside.
The one thing you DO have to do is mail it on the same day as what is printed on the label.

Thanks Val, anyone know if carriers will pick it up? With COVID & our worst month invasion in many years, I am ONLY doing carrier pick up.

Ok, I just checked & I see there's a spot for Int'l pkgs on the Carrier Pickup form, so it should work. Anyone done it?

Yes, my carrier scans them with everything else. I just sign and date it where indicated, and honestly there’s been times where I’m not sure if I remembered to sign it.

Great thanks guys, I sold to her & we'll see how long it takes. If all goes smoothly, I may drop GSP & just go with 'safe' countries directly. My main issue was always not wanting to hassle w/special forms & going to the PO. I just sold 2 APO/FPO (my first in many years) & all the customs forms were a part of the label print process so it was super easy!
BTW, my last GSP sale to Canada, just a week or 2 ago, got there in normal amount of time, shorter than some of my domestic pkgs right now.

Ok guys, another question, I went to print the label & Option 1 is First Class Intl which is what I had on my listing for $22 & then below it is
"Ebay International Standard" for $21
What is that second one? How/why did it come up?
If it matters, I had removed GSP from the listing.

I do all my international through PirateShip. For my items it's a few dollars cheaper. Not sure about clothing and such.

Yes, Jeremy is correct. Pirate Ship is much cheaper for clothing and I use them exclusively for international shipping. You need to request the simple export rate. I don’t think you can view the discounted rates without an account.

How/why did it come up? If it matters, I had removed GSP from the listing. That’s the GSP type program that doesn’t pre-charge buyers for tax/duties. I don’t use it but might give it a try during these uncertain delivery times. If it gets lost, eBay covers you.

I just sold an APO/FPO, my first in many years too, and also sold a top to Canada on Friday. I just said to myself, ebay must have turned on my international sales as I haven't had one in forever. Or if a lot of clothing sellers took international shipping off their listings due to COIVID and there's not as many choices now for international buyers. I'll do carrier pickup on everything for tomorrow pickup. I didn't change the date on the labels so I hope that won't be a problem. Didn't even think about it as I was printing them as I never change dates on my packages.

zoesam There is a place you have to sign on the customs form from ebay (probably Pirate Ship also).

Thanks everyone! I'll check out Pirate Ship if I decide to do this for real, this one was just a fluke, as the person wrote me from a 'safe' country & I'd been wanting to try it, so I'll go with USPS on this one & then decide. kat On that Ebay International Standard, do you know if it goes First Class? I'm leaning towards using that b/c it's a tad cheaper & it sounds like I'm covered if it gets lost, from what you posted. But I promised the buyer I'd send it FCI, so I don't want to lie to her.

zoesam There is a place you have to sign on the customs form from ebay (probably Pirate Ship also). Pirate ship has the electronic signature. Other shipping services we sign off and date. Shipping without GSP is really danged easy - it'll go fine - just be sure to warn your customer that it may be a while to get there due to the mails being slowed.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but their rate card is way more expensive than just shipping ourselves? Or is everything in this program going priority?

IDK, I didn't read the whole rate info, but it was CHEAPER for me than FCI. Only by $1, but cheaper. FCI was 22.12 or something like that & this program was $21. I was not able to find HOW it was going, but given the fact that the price was within $2 or FCI, I assumed it was going FCI. My pkg is going to Ireland.

About Pirateship simple export - I was doing a lot of international shipping and the ONLY significant difference I found is if you're shipping in an envelope about 12 x 16 or less. After that it equaled with commercial base rate.
I looked over the rate card again - I suspect I misread it (I was pretty bleary eyed when I read it before) because I see that now.
