I know most folks here are "no returns" but part of my business model is accepting returns.
Haven't had one in a bit so when I got a return notice yesterday (for fit: she said the sweater proportions weren't right for her), I was surprised to see she has until June 23 to ship. Really? Check the eBay website - it's a temporary change during the pandemic. I did not know of the change. Now I do.
I will say that nearly ALL buyers ship out pronto so it's not a big deal for me. If it is for you, you might want to consider going "no returns" during COVID.

I went to no returns for the time being. I'm listing mostly summer and I didn't want it back too late in the season to resell it at top dollar. When the regular return policies are restored, I'll probably go back to taking returns.
I also took international shipping off for now. I have very few international sales anyway and they're shipping even slower than usual.

I'm a returns seller (free returns) and yes, they now have quite awhile to send them back. I've had two returns in the past few months...that were never sent back.

I've been returns for quite a while and was aware of the extended return time - I've had two returns in the last few months and one was sent promptly - not sure about this current one but most people are good about it. I'm not changing anything save temporarily no longer shipping international - that was a reluctant change because I've shipped international, no matter where I've sold, since 2000, but I had a package disappear and there are too many variables right now.

I don't go international right now as I had a package inexplicably fail to be delivered in France and even Canada is like walking it over there now. Too much drama this month for my comedic preference.

So, one of my returns 'timed out'. eBay in their infinite wisdom not only didn't close it, they gave the buyer INFINITE time to return the item:
We asked the buyer to return the item for a refund. When the tracking details show that the item is delivered, we'll refund the buyer. As a result, we'll either debit your PayPal account or charge your reimbursement payment method. This case will not affect your seller performance.
There is no return by date. The buyer got replacements and never closed it. Normally, these close immediately after eBay asks if anything was returned, but now they just have the buyer as much time as they want to return. The buyer bought these on April 10! Now I'm worried the buyer will return some of the books and I'll be out books, shipping and the money.
ETA: The buyer reached out to me and was confused by eBay extending it but found the close return button, so he closed it.

Most people are decent and honest, thank gawd! My second return is on its way back to me. ::sigh:: both my returns are items I've had a tough time getting rid of.

Buyers have extra time to return things but I learned today, a non delivered international packages is considered lost after 30 days and buyers can get refunds. Not sure how that's fair. I got a message from a lady in Canada that wants an item but she wants cheap shipping. We started chatting about shipping times. She said her last 2 packages from the US took over 30 days to arrive.
