I have a number of sets of the woven (non-washable) placemats that I would like to list and am searching for the least expensive way to ship them.
A set of four weighs around 10-12 ounces, so they could ship first class if I can figure out how to package them. I have a new set listed currently with priority shipping figuring to use a priority box that I leave flat as the stack of 4 placemats is around 1/2-3/4 inch high. But I'm looking for a cheaper method.
I don't have any polymailers wide enough as the placemats are 15" in diameter, and can't even find any large enough on eBay. I've been wondering if I could roll them a bit around an air pillow and ship in polymailer, but not sure how they would travel.
Any ideas?

Take 2 polymailers.
Cut a slit down a side seam on both of them.
Slide them together to make a bag as wide as you need & tape it together.
I've done that a lot to make bigger bags.

Ah, I knew there had to be at least one smart cookie on here that could help me out. Thanks so much Shirley!! Off to split some polymailers.

If weight becomes an issue & it's close to going over the first class weight just trim down one of the bags so there is only a 1 inch overlap where you tape it.
That can save you an ounce or so on the weight.
This also works like a dream for big fat sweaters or other things you just can't stuff into a smaller bag.
