Got an email today from eBay with the title “Refund in your eBay dispute case”. Open the email and it says “eBay ruled in your favor in your dispute case, and a partial refund of $1.96 was sent to your PayPal account. Well, I opened an item not received case yesterday asking for a tracking number because I haven’t received it and there is no tracking number on it. My post office screwed up and didn’t deliver packages, only mail, when my hold mail expired last month. They eventually delivered them but not this one. It was about $35 altogether so $1.96 shocked me. Turns out it is a postage refund for something I mailed. My item not received case is still open. I’ve gotten partial shipping refunds before but the wording did not seem as incongruous as this does.

I have gotten those. Mine are from when I paid too much for postage and the scan showed that. So about a month or so later, I get a small refund.

Just not sure why they refer to it as a dispute case. It’s a refund that I didn’t know I was due.

Yeah-it had me wondering too. But they all say that. I seldom (TG) have an on-going dispute, so that was the only option otherwise.
Remember several months ago when the USPS said they were going to reimburse or charge us for incorrect postage?

I agree that it's really strange wording.

eBay has been using that weird wording for months now. At least since last year. I agree, it's confusing.

Looks like they recycled some old text and no one there is literate enough to fix it.

I've been getting those for a year with that wording. Yes, it's stupid, but it's obvious what it is from the $$ amts.
