I have a RL T-Shirt that had bleach stains on it so now I use it as dust cloth. My daughter was horrified. I'm sure Ralph would be too. I thought her reaction was funny.
How do you reuse / recycle clothing?

My dog had a cashmere pillow because of a sweater that a moth bit. I stitched it, but there was just too much to sell it, yet the ply was so thick and nice I couldn't throw it out.
A pair of beautiful linen beach pants with a drawstring waist became a great pair of knickers/bermuda shorts when a slub in the fabric was actually a hole at the knee area.

Bedding for the cats. Everything here recycles to make the cat's lives more fun and/or more comfortable.

Ok so don't laugh or be grossed out, but old white cotton underwear becomes cleaning rags. I cut the crotch out, and make two 'rags' out of the front/back. We use them for those really bad messes where you have to throw away the rag instead of washing it. They're really absorbent!

My cat lays claim to the sofa throws if I'm dumb enough to lay one down where he can get to it.

I would use stuff for my dog but he would eat it. He's almost 9 and has the mentality of a 6 month old pup when he is not sleeping!
CleanNYC I never thought of making shorts that is a good idea!

Perfect for cleaning mirrors.

I use cotton Tees as stain rags to apply wood stain. They work great because all the old lint is washed out of them already. They also work great for polishing and you can just toss them when you are done. Usually they are donated before they get to the rag point though. I have a couple I use when I dye my hair to keep it off my shoulders.

I actually have good rags and bad rags. I have to hide the good rags from my husband or else they end up with grease from cleaning his motorcycle.

LMAO because I remember one of my chores as a kid was dusting. What did I dust with??? A half a pair of my dads old underwear. Yup, my mom made them into dust rags.
Socks that the elastic goes I use for dusting now. Love how I just slide it over my hand and dust away. Any shirt for whatever reason that isn't worn/too small/trashed out becomes a rag. Older towels are put in the back seat of my truck in case I do something and get filthy at the country home and don't want my seats to get schmucked up.
Older comforters become dog beds. My husband had a bunch of fleece pullovers he didn't wear and I cut them into strips, braided them together and instant tugs for the dogs.

Old socks are great for using with vinyl conditioner (Armor All) or leather conditioner for the car dashboards, seats, and armrests. Just slip them on your hands and apply the conditioner to the sock and rub away. You can get into all the little seat contours that way. When you're done, just peel them off and pitch 'em.
