I just noticed this on an item that I mailed yesterday. She should have been able to see the estimated delivery time on the listing. I had extended my handling time for all listings to three days, but in this case it was mailed the day after she paid, so I hope she'll be pleased. In any case, she could have been a bit more polite.

Yes, but that would have required writing a whole sentence.

If I'd seen the note in time, I'd have emailed back and told her I had 3 day handling which reduces my trips to the PO, and that I was reducing my trips as I'm in a risk group and don't want to catch COVID-19 if I can help it. I'd also note that the delivery estimate she was given when the item was purchased included my 3 day handling. And I'd have closed with "your item will be dropped off at the post office on [insert day] which is my next scheduled post office run." In reality, if a buyer asks nicely, I'll ship early, even now. But that terse command? Hell no. We're dealing with a lot of whiny, demanding, stupid people right now at the office so the cranky is high and the willingness to jump thru hoops on a command is low.

I had someone order some books and wrote "I need these ASAP".
I thought, then maybe you shouldn't have ordered from someone who only ships media mail from Oregon when you live in Florida...

I wouldn't think about it much "ship asap" just means as soon as possible, not NOW!!!! or something.

I choose not to take comments like that from buyers personally.
I don't need polite from buyers. Their money will do nicely.
I ship when I ship no matter what they ask nicely or otherwise. Just business for me.

I turned off buyer’s notes at payment years ago, but I’m the same as Kritter and just go in with my routine. If someone messaged me that they wanted it ASAP and I’m able to ship sooner than planned I certainly will.

It's only a few more keystokes to type 'ship ASAP please", or even "ship asap pls" for the very lazy. Add one more keystoke and it's not demanding at all:
"ship ASAP please?"
