That's an interesting article. I'm not sure I'm buying that kids are turning to used clothing in droves but what do I know. Shoppers are fickle; just when you think you've figured it out the entire market changes yet again.
It's interesting that H&M was being held up as an industry leader. I watched an interesting expose about H&M as far as eco & worker issues were concerned. If they're a leader they still have a LONG way to go before I'll cheer for them.
And if those young shoppers are buying on Etsy, they're buying the factory produced stuff that's deceptively being called handmade.

I think they have a different problem, they priced themselves out of their market. Used to be you could go find clothing for 3-5-7-10 dollars. Unless it is the dregs of the clearance their prices have gotten very high for the fast food fashion they sell. DH has one in his mall and I have shopping around in there and for the prices I will head to Marshalls or TJMaxx and get decent quality for same price range.
Payless did the same thing. There are a few other fast food fashion stores that I think are headed in the same direction. Just my 2 cents, lol.
