I have a buyer who made an offer, which I countered, and she accepted the counter offer. This was yesterday. This morning she's all in a dither and sends me a message that she has an old PayPal account listed on Poshmark and she doesn't think there's enough money in it to cover her order. She tried to cancel the order (so I could re-list it) but said Poshmark won't let her cancel when she agreed to the counter offer, and she says they won't let her change her payment info to a different form of payment.
I don't want to cancel on my end because the last time I did that for a buyer I got severely reprimanded by Poshmark, even though the buyer wanted it. (So now, if they want to cancel THEY have to do it!) I haven't heard anything from Poshmark or Paypal to suggest there's a problem.
I guess what I need to know is, if I ship it, is there anyway I would be out the money if she doesn't have enough in her PP account to cover it?

I don't do Poshmark but why would you ship it before she makes the entire payment?
I may be missing something but the whole thing is her problem so I would just step back and let her work it out with Paypal and Poshmark.

kritter The funds are already in my account. They stay "Pending" until the buyer accepts, and then they are released. If the buyer doesn't hit the accept button, 3 days after showing delivered the funds are automatically released. So technically, she's paid already. I'm thinking this will now be her problem with PP, but I just want to double check. I think I have 3 days before I need to ship.

OH, OK, I definitely don't know the Posh rules.
Can't she look at her Paypal and see if the funds are there?

Unless it’s changed, buyers cannot cancel on purchases made with an offer. If she didn’t have funds in her account, Poshmark would notify there is a problem with payment and not issue you a shipping label. You have a week to ship and after that the buyer can cancel. Poshmark support is really slow so she probably hasn’t heard back from them.

kat Thanks! I didn't know we had a week to ship. I thought it was 3 days! I sent a message to Poshmark through their customer service page so I'll wait a day or 2 to see if I hear back from them.

She says she's been dealing with Poshmark and doesn't want to contact PP about an "outdated account". She says this is only her second Poshmark purchase. IMHO, she's a bit of a ditz. I'll wait a few days and see what happens. Like Kat said, if there was a problem, they wouldn't issue a shipping label.

Don't worry about that - I've had to cancel one purchase and another time a buyer (who will never be buying from me again) wanted me to cancel a bundle of 7 (yes seven) items, lying that she would be coming back on Friday to repay that with a few more items. Never saw her skanky butt again, got the 'no-no' email from Posh but was selling like wildfire then and it made no difference. Now I refuse - the buyer has to cancel within their window, or too bad. You have to have a history of canceling on people I think before they take action - people are going to make mistakes listing so there's definitely leeway.

Well, I just checked and the payment is showing up in my "pending" and I am able to download and print a shipping label. If I don't hear anything to the contrary tomorrow, I'll probably go ahead and ship them.

She had sent a message to Poshmark CS and they told her she couldn't cancel unless I hadn't shipped in 7 days. Well, I didn't want that so I went ahead and cancelled and let her know, she fixed her issue with PP and bought them off the new listing I made.
