I haven't sold on Bonanza or had my booth open since before I started working again in mid- 2016. Apparently, listings stick around forever because I've had not one but 2 messages from different buyers around a month apart asking to buy items that sold years ago. I've been short and polite, but either it's a joke or they're stupid not seeing in plain site it said "SOLD" and date under the title in the listing.
Then again, maybe it's a sign I should start listing there again. With all the b.s. ebay's doing, I'm skeered to list there again.

I have never tried Bonanza, but I agree about the BS on ebay. I am trying everything else this summer.
I like Mercari so far, just started there. They only take 10% and you get paid faster now with the app. I also kind of like TRR for consignment on certain high end stuff. Sometimes they underprice things, but you can always call and they will return the item back. They send monthly checks when you sell to them or you can do direct deposit.
I really hate Tradesy, tired of their b/s overcharged fees and the month+ wait to be paid. They changed their return policy too. It's horrible now. The majority stuff that gets returned, now gets sent back to sellers.

I quit Tradesy. I haven't had much luck on Mercari with only 6 sales, but I don't do much there, either because Poshmark is such a danged time suck. When Posh files for IPO I'm expecting it to start destroying the site as seems to happen and might move more over to Mercari. Mercari is really easy.

I pulled about half my items off Tradesy, anything that will cost more than $5 to ship. I just had my third return there, nothing wrong with any of it and I'm out almost $20 in shipping on them.
I was thinking about Bonanza, not sure if it's worth the trouble.

I don't care for their site and their 'turbo packs' and 'gold level membership' and all of that, when I haven't heard of stuff selling there for years. The reason I feel this way is if I recall, the site owner got a lot of capital supposedly devoted to advertisement, but I don't think anything came of it and I wonder where it went.

It's an absolute money-grab by Bonanza. They basically say "Hey, we are cheaper than eBay...unless you want to sell something, then we can be as much as 3x more expensive!" If you are on the lowest level, cheaper than eBay, you will sell nothing. But to get more advertising to all the search engines (you know, the same ones that you can find your eBay stuff on), you need to up the FVF or buy TurboPacks. But, they have their faithfuls who hate eBay so much that they don't see that they aren't selling anything or when they do, it's twice the price of eBay's fees. I looked up CDs, they have 221k listed and only 2400 sold in the last year. In comparison, I've sold 1150 by myself since last August on eBay and Discogs.

I keep hearing people on Ina's blog (when I read the comments, which isn't often) bragging about eCrater, but then one said (glowingly) that he had 4000 items or something on the site "And I'm selling one a day!" Urk. It may be free but that's pretty danged bad.

Bonanza received a good bit of venture capital, but as far as I know, none (or very little) was spent on site advertising. That's the main reason I refuse to sell there - Bonanza won't advertise, period, even after receiving enough funds to do so.

They won't advertise as long as they can keep charging the seller for Turbo Packs and higher FVF. One other thing is their minimum FVF is 50 cents. So, having to pay 13% to get seen and have a minimum of 50 cents, means I'm paying a lot more for a lot less sales.
