This is the first time I've ever gotten to shop Amazon on Prime Day and I am severely disappointed.
I ordered a Fire Stick for $14.99 on the 15th. According to tracking, it was due to be delivered on 07/16. Tracking updated the evening of the 16th to show there was a Carrier Delay. I got on chat yesterday morning and they basically told me what I already knew, it was delayed. I got transferred 3 times. No one could tell me why or when it would be delivered.
On the 16th, I ordered another one (a friend wanted one). It showed that it was supposed to be delivered yesterday. As of today, it hasn't even shipped. I got on chat again and asked and they said it was out of stock and due to arrive August 6th and would be shipped them.
I asked about the first one. i got transferred 4 times...and was given all the info that I already had, before being put 'on hold' for 10 mins. They came back and said the item wasn't with the driver when he went to deliver it, but it might be delivered today or tomorrow.
So, to break it down. I pay for Amazon Prime to get good deals and 2 day shipping. I get to finally participate in my first Prime Day. The items I order don't show up. Their reps are incompetent. Not only did they not arrive within the time they were supposed to, I still have no idea when I will get my stuff...
Amazon should be ashamed.

Sorry about your experience. We've had prime for several years and have only had two or three problems in all that time. Two were the wrong item sent. The other was out of stock or something. We order about every week or two and delivery is always one to two days. I love Prime and just discovered prime music. Lots to choose from even without getting the unlimited version.

I haven't had any issues with Prime overall. I've had it for awhile, but these were orders from Prime Day (Monday and Tuesday). Great deals and I had to really resist getting a TV, but they definitely over-promised and under-delivered (or in this case, not delivered at all). If they can't get two little things like Fire Sticks delivered, I'm glad that I didn't order a TV or something more expensive.

Still no word on the first one that never got delivered, other than "Contact us on Saturday to cancel or get a replacement." Well, I'm not going to cancel because I paid less than half price for this AND I WANT IT. Geez.
So, my first one is lost. My second one will take a month to get here. Thanks Prime Day.

That happened to me last year right before Christmas on a kick ass price on a cat tree that I wanted. The delivery date turned out to extend until the end of January. I just cancelled.
Not sure what a Roku is but it is probably the same thing as a Firestick. I use a Firestick with my DirectV

Yes, the Firestick is Amazon's version of the Roku. It's $35.00 regular price, it was on special for Prime Day at $14.99. I don't NEED one, but it was too good of a price to pass up. Then a co-worker wanted one so I ordered one for him. Mine is lost in limbo. It was apparently not in possession of the delivery driver when he tried to deliver it, but so far there is no other resolution on it except wait. My second one said delivery by Wednesday, but when I called they said they were out of stock and wouldn't be available until Aug 6th.
So, there was nothing prime about my only 2 purchases on Prime Day.

My one experience with Prime (I had the intro 30-day) the item didn't ship out for almost a week. I canceled it after that - I know stuff happens but I realized that I simply don't buy enough to pay for Prime. I have Amazon Unlimited (I think it's called) which is a monthly Kindle subscription and use that all the time for discounted titles and a sort of lending library feature.

I didn't shop Amazon but other retailers had some killer deals and I scored some good stuff. I was scouring Best Buy for some deals, but didn't find any that struck my fancy. I have not had any problem with Prime shipments in general. But this being a Prime Day special, they oversold and now are making people (me) wait. I'm not happy. I get a 55" TV this weekend from my Dad and don't have the Fire Stick to use with it. I guess I concentrate on listing, not watching anything in big beautiful color!

The saga continues...
The SECOND one I ordered is due to be delivered today. We will see if that happens.
I checked my options last night and it said to check back today to get a replacement or refund. I checked this morning and selected replacement. The replacement was denied.
I had them call me (took 3 minutes). The rep I spoke to said the only option he has is refund. I said a refund is not acceptable, I want the item. I should NOT be offered a special price, have the item not show up, get refunded the special price and have to buy it for full price. He said he doesn't have an option for replacement, but he will check with his supervisor.
He came back and said they could order a replacement. Then came back and said he was just told their request for a replacement was denied. I told him I wanted to speak to Jeff Bezos. He put me on hold. He came back and said that he could not connect me to Jeff Bezos (somehow this calmed me down quite a bit LOL). He was very patient, very understanding and very calm through my onslaught of frustration. I asked that if my only option is to refund, I would like a credit to compensate me for the price difference. He said he could only issue a $5 credit. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he got me one.
I spoke to the supervisor, who again was very nice. She said she could give me a $10.00 credit. I told her fine, not that I'm going to use it because I will not be spending another dime with Amazon. She said she will try to order the replacement again. She said it was denied because they are out of stock until the 23rd and that's the reason it keeps getting denied. She told me that if I call back then, a replacement should go through.
Of course, the phone call was MUCH longer. She still gave me a $10 credit, too. I'm still NOT happy.

Just as an update, I still don't have the item I ordered. I have spent at least 6 hours on the phone and chat with them. I tried ordering the replacement every day and it was always denied. I am on chat now for over an hour and have been transferred 3 times. Three reps so far are saying they are getting a replacement ordered but no one can.
I just told them to refund and I'll buy from their competitor. Told them as my first Amazon day it was a huge failure and I'm disappointed and will not spend any more money with them.

Buyers at Amazon are like sellers on ebay.
For every one that leaves the site, 10 more sign up.

Well, the guy refunded me and then put a $25.00 credit on the account and had me buy it again. So, I got the Prime Day price. We'll see if it arrives. Apparently, I got a supervisor of supervisors because the reps say they can only do 5.00 and the supervisor I talked to could only do 10.00.

Amazon can pretty much do what it wants but I'm glad you got a responsible supervisor!

I had the same problem with a toy that never arrived. The price had gone up so they issued me a gift card and I had to rebuy it. It was a third party seller and they were not replying to any of the shipping messages that Amazon was sending them. Oddly, the seller still had the item up but for more money. I bought from another seller on Amazon and that toy did arrive. But I missed being able to give it to my grandson at Christmas. Lesson learned.
