I'll preface this with - there are many great people out there helping others and they don't fall into this category. They're quietly living their lives and not out there saying me me me me me me me me.
I know everyone says the new generation is corrupt, bad, the downfall of America, etc... But I REALLY think it is. I see so much look at me stuff I want to puke. I delete these people off my Facebook. But I still run across them.
And test scores - intelligence. The world is passing us by. Am I wrong?

Nope. I agree with you for the most part.
Except I think it cuts across all ages, not just the current generation. It might be more visible with that group, but I come across way too many entitled selfish people of all ages.
*sigh*

My daughter, Dante, and I just had a conversation about people in general. I was telling her about something I read that a woman was happy that God gave her the opportunity to buy the dress she wanted. Some type of discount, and then there was a photo of a starving child saying...yes, as long as she has the dress it's all good. Thank you, God.
I asked her if she thought HE does give people those opportunities while others starve. She said, He gives us all the opportunity to save these kids. We choose not to.
And then we moved on to the topic of her boyfriend's mother's constant posting and started laughing. It was getting a bit too much of a conversation.

I figure since God gave us brains, He expects us to use them. Sadly, not enough people do.

No, you're not wrong. I think a lot of people's life plan is to become internet famous. Children are being raised to think their every move is wonderful with no real accomplishments to back it up.

Standing in line waiting for the riverboat to begin boarding, i was watching a gal with her phone on a selfie-stick", and was thinking much the same thing.

Yes, life is not all about being cute, selfies and facebook. To be honest I think selfies are stupid, well occasional selfies are cool but do you really need to take one every where you go and don't get me started on Facebook.
We were actually having this conversation with close friends not long ago, a few people thought the downfall started when the draft ended.

I can't stand selfies. I have people on my friends list that go to those wine/paint get together and post 30 photos of themself. Her daughter's wedding shower was last weekend. No photos of gifts. Hundreds of her mom and herself.
