So Etsy keeps upping the minimum pixel measurements they 'recommend' for each picture. I've been editing all my older 1200 wide pix to 1600 for the past few months as I list them. Today I got the yellow flag because NOW they want them a min. of 2000 pixels width!! WTH why??!! Fortunately I'm pretty small potatoes (and getting smaller) and don't have thousands of pix to revise. But it's halfway thru the year and I wanted to give Etsy another go but c'mon... really? Again?

There is absolutely no reason for pictures to be that big. Most computer monitors are set at a width of 1024 to 1280 pixel width, so having a 2000 pixel requirement means that the user will have to scroll to see it all.

I think that site is getting so strange - I haven't even fixed my previous photos to 1600 - they are what they are - it makes no difference in any mobile I've used nor any tablet, computer, etc. Any new ones I took are 1600, but I'm not going to 2000 x 3000 - that's ridiculous.
Also, Josh gets the finger from me every time the site chides me that my shipping is 'too high' and what 'buyers prefer' - *I* would prefer Josh go F himself and leave us to do our jobs.

I left for a few hours to shake it off and feel better now :-) 2 thumbs up for that one Chap! I'm so weary of being herded & bullied on the various venues. When I got back I had to check it out to make sure I wasn't over-reacting (like I tend to do). From their photo 'tips' page---
"Listing photos should be at least 2000 pixels wide. This allows shoppers use the Zoom button to see the larger image."
Photos are automatically resized on listing pages and search results. Etsy ensures that your photos looks great at all sizes:
Dimensions for thumbnails on search results and shop pages = 75 x 75 pixels Dimensions for images on listing pages = 170 x 135 pixels or 155 x 125 pixels

Even at 1200 pixels they zoom very large on my monitor.
