Tabby , does your yard back up to conservation land? Our house backs to a huge marshy lake that's been dedicated as a nature preserve. So, even though it's at the edge of a 450-house subdivision, it's left totally wild. There's a forested island in the center, then shallow marsh around that for the water birds, and then there's a deep-water lake channel around the outside. So, no matter which direction the bobcat came from, he had to SWIM to get to the area where we saw him! |

How the heck did he get there? The whole place is surrounded by houses. Maybe you should point out to him that it is a gated community. Kritter, he's not alone. People around here are always posting on Nextdoor.com about seeing wild things crossing the roads - foxes, wild boars (scary!), even the occasional very rare Florida panther. And we love our Sandhill cranes, but they stand on the sidewalks, and in the street, and they won't move. They're as big as a person, and have no fear, so everybody just makes way for them...  |

You certainly have a more interesting Nextdoor than I have.
All we have is pics of dogs running loose, complaints about the appraised property values increasing yet again, and "Did you hear those gunshots last night" when it has been pointed out on several previous threads that it was somebody shooting off fireworks in April.
