www.ecommercebytes.com/2018/11/06/etsy-grows-gms-20-in-third-quarter-2018/Unfortunately, they don't publish which actual sectors of the site are showing the most growth, but I suspect it's personalized items, gifts, drop shipped items (there are zillions of T-shirts, mugs and trucker hats) and (unfortunately) Chinese mass produced items. Especially personalized items are being very heavily promoted and Josh is saying there's a lot of room to grow here - many of those are actually hand made so that's good. Repeat buyers are starting to increase, also. Some of the profits have been reduced by single expenditures like moving to cloud servers, etc., which will be done by 2019. It's not trickling down to sellers like me (vintage) yet - my shop continues to slowly die no matter how much money and hours devoted to SEO I throw at it, but the site itself IS growing. I'm hoping this begins a ripple effect that will lift all boats, particularly if the site keeps pulling in more buyers.
