They don't seem to fit a lot of coats:
Blazers
Capes
Jean Jackets
Pea Coats
Puffers
Trench Coats
Utility Jackets
Vests
None
Where do you put regular jackets and coats that don't fit into these categories? Just use "none" or, like eBay, is everything a "trench coat"?

I've just been writing in my own. 99% of mine don't fit. Even the ones that are outdoor jackets, don't fit. It's a mess.
eta: it's not a good solution, I know.

I tried to write in my own but the system wouldn't let me. I'll try again. If those are just 'suggested' categories and ours would come up anyway, that would be fine. So far I have a lot of trench and pea coats lol.
BTW, are you on the closet list? We're all sharing when we can (as @makinmagic says, no huge obligation).

Chap chapeaunoir so sorry, I read the board by 'newest', not category, so I didn't realize this was in reference to Poshmark. I'm not on PM, disregard my answer & sorry for the confusion.

Oh, dang! I thought you'd found a good workaround lol. That's OK.
ETA: I've been writing my own on eBay, though. Just generally "basic jacket".

I was wondering about jackets too. I just leave it blank sometimes.

What bothers me most is that there is no Active-wear category.

There are definitely big holes in their drop downs - I wonder if there are going to be any additions or changes?

I watched a few videos from posh fest and they seem to really embrace the simplicity of the site. Additions mentioned were allowing conversations within bundle offers (which they’ve followed through with already). They are supposedly considering making a way to save drafts but who knows when. Some chatter has been that you will only be able to save one draft at a time - so if you have to look up a MSRP or stop before launching, you won’t lose all your work.

Simplicity IS a good thing, but I don't think it serves the site not to have a few more essential categories in their drop downs. Even just "basic coat" and "basic jacket" would do because right now the categories are restrictive without being adequate.

Right now, if I have to look up something, I list it, and then go back and edit it.

I know it's more clicky-clicky and work, but I like the idea of having to share items individually and having a limited number of drafts. Being able to keep a single draft does help at lot if one gets interrupted, say, but it also keeps the rate of posting at a reasonable level so the feed doesn't clump.
The individual share is good so very large sellers done brute force sharing by dumping 100s of items into the feed at the same time, every minute on the minute or something.
The feed is fun to look at because it IS so individual and varied. I have to watch it when I use the feed to follow because I see too much stuff that I want lol. I've already purchased two items that came up in the feed.

I read in the rules that we are not allowed to use programs to share automatically, but it is obvious that some of the seller do so anyway. I find it hard to believe that someone who joined 2 months ago can be following 50k sellers.

I wonder if there's some kind of optimum ratio or if it's just individual style? A number of these sellers who follow much fewer people are following me, though.

That’s a thing. It’s supposed to be impressive if you have tons of followers and you don’t follow anyone. There are bots and virtual assistants that offer to do this for just about any platform with followers/follows. There are a lot posh sellers that do this and when I notice they don’t follow, I unfollow.

That's good to know! I was wondering if it was a status thing. I've had the "oh the Humanity" captcha come up when I'm doing my sharing from the feed - so there is some provision for moving too fast.
It's tempting to use a bot program, I know of a few that work pretty well, but I'd rather keep things real.

I am thinking that since Posh doesn't allow it, that if they are like eBay, they would send a warning?
