Amazon and Apple's position are not a surprise.
Home Depot is always pushing their - Buy online, pickup in store. I do it all the time. I quick order and pay. Usually by the time I get there the items are pulled and ready to go.

I think that's awesome.
Amazon makes and sells a lot of their own products and downloads so I can absolutely see why their bar is to the far right.
I wonder how much % it would up the eBay bar if they included event tickets (stub hub).
Glad to see eBay is right behind Amazon and above all the others.

I was surprised at how LOW eBay was. Not in comparison to Amazon, but just overall. They used to be much higher.

I guess I can’t fault eBay for wanting to be more like Amazon then.

At least eBay's the leader of the 'rest of the pack'... that's pretty good. Kinda. And it puts the constant site changes into perspective it they're trying to close the gap between them and Amazon.

If eBay were just trying to be eBay and shining in their own sphere, I'd say that was darned good. But for a site trying to be an Amazon clone, not so much. Looking at that would tell me, were I in eBay admin, that maybe the direction isn't so good.
Look at the stock price difference between Amazon and eBay.

Walmart isn't that far behind eBay. Walmart has also set up their site to be a marketplace. If it weren't for the used stuff on eBay, I could see WM easily overtaking eBay.

Well, comparative growth - again, if ebay had stuck to its roots I think it would have been a much more even, solid picture

And the stock prices second that comparative growth.

I think that going into 2019 we'll see what all of the changes this year have done - whether that trajectory keeps going up or just has its usual up/down pattern. The improvements are all on the tech side, which for eBay is a double-edged sword.

Off subject: I'm surprised that more companies aren't pushing the buy here, pick up in store service. I think it's Amazing that Home Depot made this list.

Most every retailer I regularly shop with encourages buy online/pick up in store. Some even offer free shipping to the store (for web-only items), and include a x% off coupon in their delivery notification email, good for items purchased on the day you pick up your item.

I think stores lose revenue with the buy online pick up in store model. People aren't buying things they didn't come in for. Not browsing the aisles and throwing extras into their carts.

I know most offer it. HD really pushes this program. I love it when I am picking up boring stuff. I make DH look it up online so I don't have to spend a bunch of time trying to find the right size fitting or whatever.... Side note: They have the best cleaning aisle.

I think stores lose revenue with the buy online pick up in store model. People aren't buying things they didn't come in for. Not browsing the aisles and throwing extras into their carts. I think that's why the smart ones will include a coupon. Avenue has a coupon in the package good for X% (varies), and Catherine's has a coupon in the email they send you letting you know your package has arrived. Both coupons are only good the visit that you're picking up your order. I usually end up browsing the store to see if anything strikes my fancy.

I would probably spend 1/4 of what I do if in store carts added up your purchases and displayed a running total.

Kind of like having the calories on things.
I'll be curious as to what happens on ebay in 2019 due to the catalog, payments, etc.
