If you caught today's Live EfB video, they discussed the fall ad campaign, and this is the only one I could find. I like this better than the fill your cart with color ads - maybe because of the song. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gadKs4RaACs

The problem is that ebay won't spend the money to air the ad where it matters, where buyers will see it. A great ad is only as good as it's air time/place.
They should talk to the "MY Pillow" guy about how to advertise, LOL - that guy drives me crazy - he must spend hundreds of millions - he's on every channel every half hour!

The one that is driving me crazy two zillion times a day is the Progressive Insurance ad. It is so stupid. I would never buy Progressive insurance because of their ads. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVxF1nul4UM

I can't stand the progressive Flo commercials - we get her in our area every night. She's outdone her stay and needs to go away! And those singers on that commercial you linked are just atrocious.
The My Pillow Guy one where the people open their medicine cabinet and he's there makes me crazy. Fox News airs it every 15 minutes at night.
I love the Volvo commercials that use the "What Sweeter Music" choir song. I could listen to that all night.

Yes, Flo needs to go away along with those two idiots in the car in the Sonic commercials.

I like this new ad much better than the fill your cart with color. They're targeting the millenials and ( maybe Gen Z ?) population, which is really good. They definitely need to broaden their buyer base.
Hopefully Ebay is going for heavy exposure.

I like the ad but I wish they had said "ebay" somewhere in the audio feed. You have to watch the commercial - it will be wasted on those who step away from the TV during commercial breaks.

I hear eBay ads on the radio all the time. I also have heard Etsy ads and Mercari ads.

I dn't watch much network TV, mostly streamed and see ebay ads on there as well as on youtube. I agree the My Pillow guy is annoying - I have only seen maybe two or three commercials for his pillow, but I know exactly who you're talking about. I watched Bunny unbox a mystery box a while back. I don't follow her, but will watch if I see a preview that catches my eye. This was a follow-up and super positive for eBay's image. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb6ee7ZZXHg

I see My Pillow ads constantly. My husband mutes them, he is so sick of them. Ebay needs to put their ads on channels that people actually watch. I've only seen or heard a few ebay ads in my life and have never heard one on the radio.

I also think they're targeting a younger audience - they desperately need to get them on board, though I sell to a wide variety of ages now (I can kind of tell by their first names), most of my customers are probably 35+ (I sell to a younger demographic on Etsy). My feeling about exposure is that they're rolling out the adverts in different markets/streams - they need to know what works and what doesn't when shifting focus like this. I don't see adverts at all as I don't watch television, but I might catch one once in a while staying in a hotel. I'm far more likely to see one as an online feed or hear one on the radio.

I watch a lot of YouTube on my TV because I love British shows like Real Stories in the background and I don't get any channels that show them. (I also like to watch the eBay videos I swore I would never watch) I like that the commercials are only about 15 seconds on youtube and even the longer ones I can live with because there's only one at a time. I have never heard an etsy commercial. I call it "et-sy" with a short e, but I heard several online sellers also call it "eat-sy". How do the commercials say it?

I watch some You-Tube (old boxing footage and follow bike racing mostly) - I've never heard an Etsy commercial (I also pronounce it et-sy). Oh yeah, and I watch the Slime Queen lol. She's great!

Have you watched the General Session videos from Open? Capturing Generation Z is a big focus. If you haven't watched, they are good background info and explain a lot about why they do things they are doing.

I found this etsy commercial but they don't say it out loud. I LOVE this commercial. I am a mug freak and they even have my Big Hug Mug on it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BexJ4tT0m-M

I hear eBay radio ads pretty often here. We're considered a cheap media metro despite the size. Part of me wonders if that's why I hear the ads - because they're cheap to run here and not necessarily because this is a good demographic market for eBay.

I hope they are targeting a younger audience.
I've heard ads for EBATES and it sounds like they're saying EBAY. But I've still never heard an ad for ebay.

I do watch those - there's one person I like who was broadcasting from open (not Kathy Terrill though she's fine) - Boss Lady something. I was listening to her Google search broadcast and also her eBay Boost review. I like that she's so down to earth and honest about what she feels is worth doing and what isn't at this time for her own situation.

It would sure piss him off to know the guy is still driving all of us crazy.

I’m watching Friends back to back on TBS in the background on the TV today and that new eBay commercial has run several times today.

The commercials I hate are for Liberty Mutual car insurance. They're all something like this, "So you were driving recklessly, knocked down a couple of mailboxes, smashed your car into a tree, and your insurance company raised your rates!! Why have insurance if you're not supposed to use it?" I just hate that message, and I assume that they start off with high rates so they don't have to raise them when the driver does something stupid.

I want to smack the one woman who says they will only pay for 3/4 of a car. That's such a lie. Insurance companies are regulated by the state insurance commissioner. They have to pay ( with appropriate coverage ) what the car was worth the second before the accident. They don't pay off loans unless there is gap coverage.

I've been watching TV lately - I usually just watch Netflix and Youtube. I hear eBay's commercial on Comedy Central and TBS frequently. I haven't really had any other channels on. I don't know if I just notice it more or if it's always been this way, but eBay and its sub accounts seem much more active on Instagram lately. Whatever they are doing, it's not helping me - but I'm not selling current trends or luxury items or any of the non-fashion things they are featuring either. If only they'd run more on Lifetime and Law & Order marathons.
