...how to turn off following other sellers? I'm getting "notifications" now on my store (not in email) when one I'm following adds an item to their store. I've looked all through my preference settings and can't find anything I can turn on or off about that. Don't know how this happened suddenly but it's distracting. I find Etsy help pages to be useless and badly designed. Any solution for this would be most appreciated.

There's no opt out on that, unfortunately. It's a test they're rolling out and irritates a lot of people. I just ended up unfollowing a lot of shops to at least cut down on the noise.

How do you unfollow? I'd love to do that and it would solve the problem.

Just go into the shops you favorite (it'll be in your 'you' profile) and go into each one and unclick the red favorite heart. They used to just have it in a list form and you could go down the list, but they've, um, 'fixed' it that so it's harder.

I've noticed that too and it's bugging the heck out of me! Is there a way to write Etsy and tell them it's annoying? I really don't want to "un-favorite" those shops.

There are about 70 threads by now on the boards there (no one seems to check if someone has already started a thread on something). A lot of people are saying that it's just too distracting, and others don't mind. I'm in the middle - it reminded me to update my favourites so the new items being listed are from shops I'm still interested in.
Some funny remarks like "I'm not going to hurt Etsy sellers by unfavouriting them!" - Giiiiiiiiiirl/duuuuuuuude - it doesn't materially injure them and favouriting hasn't been shown to bring in sales!
