Funny looking at the chart on the bottom of the last article. I wonder if a lot of the best buy, etc traffic was driven by buyers like me - just for price comparison...

Was it last year or year before that eBay had site issues on their version of Amazon Prime Day?

Probably the year before. I don't remember hearing about that.

Year before - the site kept breaking. Last year I don't recall anything. But that's a good call to get a lot listed. Maybe I'll just run all of my unlisted cool weather stuff. I'm about done with spring/summer this week as I'll be running out of inventory and don't want anymore warm weather stuff unless it's really great.
ETA: I'm also going to run loads of sales on that day - I have very little NWT stuff, though.

Yeah - I'll either play around with putting nearly everything on sale starting the night before running a couple days. Or I'll end all sales and add best offer and just plan doing a lot of countering. I haven't had BO on in a very long time.

Yahoo just crashed on that page lol. I notice that they mention Target and Walmart running competing campaigns but not eBay (that's as far as I got, though).

Why doesn't eBay do something to set itself apart from Amazon instead of trying to copy them. Amazon sells items and allows 3rd party sellers. eBay is 3rd party sellers and sells nothing. They are two different businesses in the same sector AND THAT'S OKAY!

I think eBay admin can't see beyond their own egos and the need to 'win' a battle when they've already lost the war. Wenig has clearly become delusional and the rest really aren't far behind.

Riding the wave just like all the other retailers is all.
I had a pretty good Monday and Tuesday! Instead of running a special sale, I upped my Promoted Listings. Added everything from my store and set the percent at 13%. Out of 21 sold listings for those two days, 5 were sold on promoted listings for about $12.
