I sold a pillowcase to a gal signed in as a guest from Canada but she omitted her last name on her address. The PO won't allow me to complete the label without a last name; naturally the order is due to ship today so it's probably gonna go out late. Usually there's an option to contact the buyer someplace in orders but none of the dropdown tabs have that option. Is this usual with guests? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I think eBay is doing away with eMails due to a new privacy law. I'd just repeat the first name as the surname and leave it at that (I had to do that once).

Hmm it is an international order; maybe that's why it's like that. Hope USPS catches up with their requirements. I'll see if that'll work. Thanks Chap!

Can't you look at the payment email? Or does Etsy payments not send you one like PP does?

OK, I double checked - I can still view email address on the orders/shipping page. Hover over the ID and it should be in the little drop-down. Etsy is phasing these changes in so it doesn't always work.

Using her first name as her last name worked Chap... looks silly but it's in the mail now. I guess I could have found her email addy somewhere but I didn't check my own email as it's a 2nd google and I'm tired of signing into 6 different emails to do business. It seems like we should be able to just click the 'contact buyer' button like we've always been able to on Etsy without leaving the site.
The EU is sure getting fussy about privacy... wish someone in the US would get interested tho it'll be a real mess if they do. Cookies, data mining & various overt & stealthy tracking & snooping, endless security breaches; I'm weary of it all. Etsy is going to require its sellers to post data & privacy policies soon; that should be interesting.

If it's a Guest they don't have an account - I'm not sure how the on-site contact works in that case.

You should email Etsy, Retro, and point this out to them. There's no reason the guest sign up can't be set to require a first AND last name.

Not a bad idea Val; I don't care about collecting anybody's email addy but need first & last name if USPS requires it for shipping.
